Qatar Airways Fleet Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

Qatar Airways operates the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on a variety of long-haul flights.

This aircraft is configured with only two classes of service where all Business Class seats feature 180 degree recline.

This aircraft flies with 22 seats of Business Class and 232 seats of Economy Class.

All A, C, D, F, H, and K seats may have restricted legoom and limited under seat storage space due to the presence of an entertainment equipment box.

The business seats were the same reverse-herringbone style that you’ll find on the A350 and the A380.

They were arranged in five rows of four seats across in a 1–2–1 configuration.

Then, like on the A350, there was sort of a little standing/table area by the boarding door where the two business-class lavatories were.

The seats on the 787 had the same bells and whistles as those on the A350.

All were upholstered in gray on this plane, though.

Overhead space was at a premium on this plane as well, with bins only over the outer sections of seats.

The seat is in the deep ruby purple of Qatar Airways corporate livery and the seat cloth has a Prince of Wales detailing.

At the seat was a large purple padded blanket and the Brics amenity bag – blue for men, beige for women.

The seat is large, reclining to a bed length of 80 inches, and a bed width of 30 inches and is comfortable in many different positions, from the upright take off / work and landing position to fully flat as a bed.

Storage includes large overhead lockers over the window seats, watch your head if you are sitting under these – I saw someone bang their head.

There is a drawer for shoes (not easy to spot), a space under one of the arms for a bottle of water and the noise-cancelling headphones, a large side table area which has a magazine rack, and the tray table which slides out from under the large 17-inch IFE touch screen with a further fold-out portion.

The tray table typifies the seat, being strong, practical, and designed in such a way that you can push it back under the screen when you want to get out of the seat without having to remove everything.

Finally there is another storage space next to the power socket.

The IFE system (Thales i8000) has a huge amount of content on it.

The window seats are angled towards the window so you can make the most of the views and there is a control on each allowing you to dim them or lighten them according to how much light you would like in though the flight attendants ultimately control this.

The windows are also very obvious since there are no walls in their way except the shell of the seats – these larger windows (18.5 by 11 inches; 47 by 28 cm) allow a lot of light into the cabin.

This airplane may accommodate 254 passengers: 22 in business class and 232 in economy class.

Business class offers 22 flat bed seats with 180 degree recline.

20 seats are located in the first section.

There are 5 rows of seats here per 4 in each.

Location of the galleys in front may cause some discomfort to passengers of the seats of the 1st row.

Passengers of the seats 1A and 1K will feel more privacy.

Misaligned windows are the main disadvantage of the seats 5A and 5K.

Behind the exit row 2 more seats of business class are located.

The main disadvantage of these seats, the seats 6EF is close location of the lavatories.

Economy class consists of 232 seats divided into 2 classes.

Most of the seats have 3-3-3 configuration.

All A,C,D,F,H and K seats may have less legroom and under seat storage space because of entertainment equipment stored here.

First section of economy class seats contains 15 rows of seats.

There are totally 135 seats here.

Passengers of the seats of the 10th row will take advantage of extra space for their legs.

Also these seats offer bassinet locations if passenger is travelling with baby.

However, these seats are narrower than standard and have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Also other passengers tend to gather in the area of these seats in order to visit lavatories and causing discomfort to passengers of these seats.

Proximity of the lavatories is also disadvantage of the seats 24C, 24D, 24F, 24H and for passengers of the seats of the 25th row.

The second section of economy class seats is located behind exit row.

There are 11 rows of seats here: 10 of them have 3-3-3 configuration and the last row contains 7 seats.

Passengers of the seats 26ABC and 26HJK will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom.

But this additional space in case of the seats 26A and 26K is limited because of the protrusion of the exit doors inside.

The seats 26DEF on the contrary may have restricted legroom.

Missing windows is another disadvantage of the seats 26a and 26K.

Among disadvantages of the seats of the 26th row: proximity of the lavatories, reduced width as the tray tables are in the armrests making them immovable and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

Passengers with infants are often seated on the seats 26DEF as they have bassinet locations.

The seats 34a and 34K are considered bad seats as they have no windows.

Location of the galleys and lavatories behind may represent problem for passengers of the seats 35CD, 35 FH and of the seats of the 36th row.

Limited recline of the seats of the last 36th row makes these seats bad seats.
