TAP Air Portugal Fleet Airbus A340-300 Details and Pictures. TAP Air Portugal operates 4 wide-body aircraft Airbus A340-300, but soon this aircraft will be replaced with Airbus A330neo.
The Airbus A340-300 has the best on board comfort and service in the quietest cabin.
It is powered by four engines and operates independent of the restrictions that apply to twin-engine planes, which allows it to offer direct flights to the destinations.
It is also capable of carrying up to 25 tons as cargo. It thrives in many market environments and often forms a key part of a larger international operation with major and flagship carriers, operating along with other A330 or A340 models.
As flagships with smaller airlines, A340-300s provide vital long-range links to and from less populous cities; while serving as a cost-effective 275-300-seat long-range complement for operators of A320 Family aircraft.
As a result of its four engines, the A340-300 does not require any ETOPS (Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards) certification – allowing for quick start-up of long-haul operations.
It also has good ‘hot and high’ capability at airports that would be off-limits to other aircraft.

Seat Map and Seating Chart Airbus A340-300 TAP Air Portugal
This airplane may transport 268 passengers in two classes: 36 in the executive class and 232 in the economy class.
First 6 rows of seats represent seats of executive class and have 2-2-2 configuration.
So, there are 36 angle-flat seats here.
All these seats are standard only location of the galleys and lavatories behind will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats of the 6th row.
Economy class seats are located in two sections.
First section contains 16 rows of seats: 14 of them have 2-4-2 configuration and 2 rows contain 4 seats each.
Limited space for passengers’ legs and close location of the galleys and lavatories are the main disadvantages of the seats 11DEFG.
Passengers of the seats 12AB and 12HJ will take advantage of extra legroom.
But location of the lavatories and galleys in front may cause discomfort.
The noise from the galley and lavatories located behind and limited recline are the disadvantages of the seats 25AB, 25HJ and 26DEFG.
Second section of economy class seats is located behind the exit row.
Due to the exit row located in front the seats of the 27th row offer extra legroom.
Passengers tend to congregate in the area of these seats while waiting to use lavatories and this causing discomfort to passengers of these seats.
Because of the awkward configuration transition of the seats from 4 to 3, the seats 36A and 36G are often bumped by service carts and other passengers passing by and the seats 37DEF have limited space for passengers’ legs.
The only disadvantage of the seats 41D and 41F is the noise from the galleys located behind.
The seats 39AB, 40HJ and 42DEF are considered bad seats because these seats are less reclining or not reclining at all and are located close to the galleys.
