Finnair Fleet Airbus A321-200 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

This Finnair Airbus A321 operates with a seating capacity of 201-209 seats.

Finnair typically flies this aircraft on short to medium-haul European routes.

The Business Class offers passengers more space since the middle seat is not being sold and thus remains free.

Depending on demand, the seats in rows 5 to 8 can also be converted to Business Class by reserving the middle seat for extra space.

It should first be noted that business class on the Finnair Airbus A321 is a row of three with the middle seat blocked out.

The seating is similar to the comfort of an American airline’s (with a small a) domestic economy cabin.

There is no difference between the size of the seat in business and economy.

In each cabin, the width of the seat is 18 inches and the pitch is 38 inches.

This is very similar to the size of an American Airlines A321 economy cabin seat, just as a point of reference.

First version of Airbus A321 is the most common in Finnair fleet.

This airplane offers 201 seats: 16 seats of business class and 185 seats of economy class.

All the seats on this airplane are standard and have 18 inches width and 31 inches pitch.

First 4 rows of seats are the seats of business class.

The middle seats (B and E) in business class are not sold that is why passengers of this class have more personal space.

Noise from the galleys and lavatory located in front and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing are the disadvantages of the seats of the 1st row.

Economy class is divided from the business class with a movable divider.

The seats here are located in 3 sections.

First section consists of 5 rows of seats. 4 rows have 3-3 configuration and 1 seat has 2-2 configuration.

The seats of the rows 5-8 are convertible into business class seats that is why if these seats are sold as business the middle seats are blocked.

Due to exit rows located behind the seats of the 9th row may be less reclining than standard.

Second section of economy class seats offer 14 rows: 13 rows have 3-3 configuration and 1 row has 2-2 configuration.

Passengers of the seats of the 10th row will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom.

But as the tray tables are built-in the armrests the width of these seats is reduced a little.

Also these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

These seats are considered the best seats in the economy class.

Limited recline is the only disadvantage of the seats of the 23rd row – the last row of the section.

Third section is located behind another exit row.

There are 13 rows here.

12 rows have 3-3 configuration and the last row offer 3 seats.

The best seats in this section are seats 24BC and 24DE.

These seats offer additional legroom to passengers as well as the seats 24A and 24F.

However, these seats have such disadvantages as: no floor storage during take-off and landing and reduced width because the armrests are immovable as the tray tables are built-in the armrests.

Missing windows make the seats 24A and 24F bad seats.

Close location of the lavatories is the main disadvantage of the seat 35C.

Congregation of passengers who are waiting to use lavatories will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 35DEF and 36ABC.

That is why these seats are considered bad seats.

This version of Airbus A321 may accommodate 188 passengers in two classes.

The seats of the rows 1-4 are business class seats.

In business class the middle seats are blocked (they are not sold).

So, there are 4 seats in each row, per 2 in each side.

Thus business class may accommodate 16 passengers.

Due to position of the bulkhead the seats of the 1st row have limited space for passengers’ legs.

Among other disadvantages: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing and reduced width because the tray tables are built-in the armrests making them immovable.

Economy class offers 172 seats.

The only disadvantage of the seats of the 7th row is limited recline.

Behind exit row another section of economy class seats is located.

First 2 rows of the section offer the best seats of this class.

First of all these are seats of the 8th row and the seats 9A and 9F.

Passengers of these seats will take advantage of additional legroom.

However, the width of these seats is slightly reduced and passengers can feel cold during the flight due to position of exit doors here.

Also seats 9A and 9F have no floor storage during takeoff and landing.

Because of the exit row located behind the seats of the 21st row do not recline.

Thanks to the exit row located in front of the seats of the 22nd row passengers of these seats will feel comfortable because they provide extra legroom.

Seats 22BC and 22DE are considered good seats.

All seats of the 22nd row have the following disadvantages: this area can get cold during the flight, as the tray tables are located in the armrests, the width of these seats is reduced and these seats have no floor storage during takeoff and landing.

One more disadvantage of the seats 22A and 22F is missing window.

Noise from the galley and lavatory will cause discomfort to passengers of the seat 33D.

Close location of the lavatories and galley behind and no recline make the seats 33ABC and 34DEF bad seats.
