Alaska Airlines Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 University of Washington Huskies Livery. Part of our special series of aircraft featuring West Coast universities, this livery celebrates the University of Washington Huskies.
The Husky plane was brand new when painted and as such would have been painted regardless of paint scheme. No expense was incurred by the university.
The goal of the project was to put an element of fun into the flying experience while also putting a smile on the faces of university alumni, staff and students.
The original Husky plane was unveiled on Feb. 19, 2008. The Husky plane is Bombardier Q400.
These 76-seat turboprop aircraft are the workhorses of Horizon air, using 30-40 percent less fuel and reducing emissions by the same percent than comparable sized jets.
