LATAM operates two versions of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on long-haul routes.

Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner can travel more miles uninterruptedly maintaining the same environmental efficiency as the 787-8.

In addition, it uses up to 20% less fuel than similar planes and produces up to 20% fewer CO2 emissions, reducing environmental impact.

The windows are up to 40% larger, the storage bins are 30% bigger, it has LED lighting and new air humidification techniques.

LATAM flies their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on two different configuration layout.

First version of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner features a two class configuration with 30 Premium Business seats that transform into 72 inch long beds and 274 standard Economy Class seats.

This aircraft features 63 of preferred Economy Class seats LATAM designates as “LATAM+”.

These seats provide additional seat pitch and other amenities such as priority boarding and deplaning.

Second version of LATAM 787-9 Dreamliner features a two class configuration with 30 Premium Business seats configured in a staggered layout that transform into 77 inch long beds and 273 standard Economy Class seats.

This aircraft features 63 of preferred Economy Class seats LATAM designates as “LATAM+”.

These seats provide additional seat pitch and other amenities such as priority boarding and deplaning.

Please note the seats in row 43 are generally designated as crew rest seats, and therefore may often not be available to book.

While the 787-8 has three rows of business class and then a cabin behind the second set of doors with two more rows, the 787-9 has a single business class cabin with five rows, in a 2-2-2 configuration.

LATAM’s 787-9 business class seats are standard forward facing fully flat seats.

However, they don’t have any sort of a privacy partition between seats, while the 787-8 does have a small partition.

Each seat had an ottoman, and then a storage compartment between the entertainment monitors, as well as storage underneath the ottomans.

LATAM Fleet Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Details and Pictures. On current fleet, LATAM operates 10 wide-body aircraft Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

LATAM was the first airline in the Americas to add the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to its fleet, and flew its first route on November 1, 2012.

This plane will fly routes to Santiago, Lima, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, Frankfurt and Madrid.

The windows are 30% larger than the ones in the 767, and it’s possible to electronically dim the light.

In addition, acoustic impact is 60% lower than that of other planes of the same size.

The 787-8 cabin has better air quality due to its purification system, which removes gaseous contaminants and reduces symptoms, like throat irritation, caused by low humidity.

LATAM Fleet Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

LATAM flies the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with 247 seats in a two-class configuration of Business and Economy.

This version has 217 seats in a two-class configuration of Business and Economy.

Premium Business is LATAM’s Business Class product.

The dome shaped interior, which LATAM opted for in their version of the Dreamliner, allows for a more spacious in-flight experience.

Premium Business occupies the first five rows in a 2-2-2 configuration.

Each seat has electronic controls (including a useful memory function), a privacy screen, a USB charger and a multi-region power point.

There’s space for a water bottle under the armrest and more storage under the footrest in the seat in front.

The seat converts into a fully flat bed that is 58 centimetres wide and about 180 centimetres long.

A handy pivoting tray table means you can get in and out of the seat without putting it away.

However, if you’re next to the window and your neighbour is sleeping, you’ll have to step over them.

The LATAM Business Class in the Boeing 787-8 comes with five rows in a 2-2-2 configuration.

Three rows are before door 2 of the aircraft, while two rows are behind of the door.

Nevertheless, there is no proper separation, but rather an open cabin.

This type of cabin design is new to me, but actually makes the cabin feel a little more spacious.

The Business Class seats in the Boeing 787-800 of LATAM are standard forward facing seats, which recline to a fully flat bed.

As you’d expect of the configuration, not all seats can easily access the aisle.

However, the seats are fairly broad and come with a good padding.

Thus, seating in all positions is quite comfortable.

At the same time, there is just a small partition between the seats, which means that there is not too much privacy.

The seats also come with an ottoman, which you can store some things below.

Storage is one of the weakest features of the seat as there is barely any storage room besides the ottoman.

You only have a small pocket with a net to hold smaller things in the middle console right next to your seat.
