The plane will feature a silver I Vandal logo on its golden tail, the university’s word mark, and the words “Idaho” and “Vandals” in gold on both sides.

The new 76-seat turboprop aircraft is sure to delight the university’s large alumni base in Idaho and around the northwest.

The cost of painting the aircraft will be covered by Horizon as part of its scheduled repainting; there is no cost to the university.

University of Idaho Vandals Facts

The Idaho Vandals are the intercollegiate athletic teams representing the University of Idaho, located in Moscow. The Vandals compete at the NCAA Division I level as a member of the Big Sky Conference.

The football team was an independent for the 2013 season due to a major wave of departures from the WAC that left just two football-playing schools. In July 2014, Idaho returned its football team to the Sun Belt Conference and the other sports rejoined the Big Sky Conference.

The university’s official colors are silver and gold, honoring the state’s mining tradition. Because these metallic colors in tandem are not visually complementary for athletic uniforms, black and gold are the prevalent colors for the athletic teams, with an occasional use of silver, similar to Colorado, whose official colors are also silver and gold.

When Idaho moved out of the Big Sky to the Big West in 1996, the yellow “Green Bay” gold was changed to metallic “Vegas” gold. Yellow gold and black were the colors used by most of the varsity teams from 1978 to 1996, initiated by first-year head football coach Jerry Davitch’s new uniforms for 1978.

It took a crew of eight people working around the clock for seven days at Associated Painters, located in Spokane, WA to paint the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 on san Diego State University Aztecs (SDSU) livery.

The painting required 32 gallons of white paint, 10 gallons of red paint and four gallons of black paint. In addition, about 2,000 sheets of sandpaper and 10,000 yards of masking tape were also used.

About San Diego State University (SDSU) Aztecs

The San Diego State Aztecs are the athletic teams that represent San Diego State University (SDSU). San Diego State currently sponsors six men’s and thirteen women’s sports at the varsity level.

The Aztecs compete in NCAA Division I (FBS for football). Its primary conference is the Mountain West Conference.

The women’s water polo team participates in the Golden Coast Conference after leaving the Big West Conference in July 2013.

The men’s soccer team participates as an associate member of the Pac-12 Conference.

The De Havilland Canada Dash 8 is a series of turboprop-powered regional airliners, introduced by de Havilland Canada (DHC) in 1984. DHC was later bought by Boeing in 1988, then by Bombardier in 1992; then by Longview Aviation Capital in 2019, reviving the de Havilland Canada brand.

Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100s, it was developed from the Dash 7 with improved cruise performance, lowered operational costs but without STOL performance.

Three sizes were offered: initially the 37–40 seat -100 until 2005 and the more powerful -200 from 1995, the stretched 50–56 seats -300 from 1989, both until 2009, and the 68–90 seats -400 from 1999, still in production. The Q Series are post-1997 variants with quieter cabins.

Montana State University (MSU) Bobcats Information

The Montana State Bobcats are the varsity athletic teams representing Montana State University in Bozeman in intercollegiate athletics.

The university sponsors thirteen teams including men and women’s basketball, cross country, skiing, tennis, and track and field; women’s-only golf and volleyball; and men’s-only football.

What is Boise State University Broncos?

The Boise State Broncos are the athletic teams that represent Boise State University and compete in the Mountain West Conference (MWC), a Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) conference.

The Broncos have a successful athletic program overall, winning the WAC commissioner’s cup for the 2005–06 and 2009–10 years. Boise State joined the MWC in 2011.

The best-known program is football, which attained a perfect 13–0 record in 2006, capped by an overtime win in the Fiesta Bowl over the Oklahoma Sooners. They finished the season as the only major undefeated college football team.
