China Airlines’ Airbus A350-900 is the newest and most technologically advanced Airbus jetliner.

It is constructed of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic which, due to its lower weight, offers 25% fuel saving over similar jetliners constructed of aluminum and steel.

The aircraft features an extra-wide cabin with windows providing panoramic views.

China Airlines Fleet Airbus A350-900 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

The passenger experience on the China Airlines Airbus A350-900 has been designed to fuse “traditional elements and modern amenities” as mentioned on the company’s website.

Wooden walls, beautiful fabrics, and dramatic lighting were used in the design of the interiors.

Three different classes are on this aircraft.

Premium Business, which features open suite seats which convert to fully flat beds, Premium Economy, which features spacious legroom, and Economy, which features comfortable standard seating with access to a variety of inflight entertainment.

Family Couch seats, which are three seats together that provide a comfortable bed-like area for children or two adults, are also available in Economy Class.

The Family Couch seats are available for purchase at an additional cost.

These seats are indicated on the seat map in blue shading.

China Airlines has already won awards for its A350 business class product – and rightly so.

The 32 business class seats are configured in a 1-2-1 herringbone arrangement, creating a great sense of privacy and direct aisle access for all.

The cabin design is beautiful, with striking wood panelling veneers and residential touches such as the charming personal table lamps.

The B/E Aerospace Super Diamond seat features a comfortable, 78-inch lie-flat bed, with fully customisable positions.

Plenty of storage space includes a generous split-level footwell, a shallow tray, and a deeper space under the side panel – where the noise-cancelling headphones, IFE remote and USB/charging ports are located.

The underside of this panel also reveals a generously large mirror.

The seat itself is comfy, with silk-polyester blend cushions and a soft blanket.

The seatbelt set-up required an extra shoulder strap to be worn during taxiing and take-off.

The premium economy cabin on China Airlines’ A350s lies right behind the business-class cabin.

The 31 seats are arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration, which is more generous than many competitors who have a 2-4-2 configuration in the same class on their A350s.

Each seat is a little over 20 inches wide and offers 39 inches of pitch.

These seats are of the shell variety, where the setback reclines back into the structure of the actual seat, which itself does not recline into the seat behind you.

The seats are covered in an attractive and modern-looking gray, almost tweedy fabric that reminded me of the couch in my apartment.

The muted color schemes and tasteful faux wood trimmings made this feel like a higher-end product than you’d typically find.

Next to each seat at about shoulder height was a personal reading light as well as a small storage pocket, though I only used the seatback pocket.

Each seat had a USB port in the seatback and an AC outlet in the middle divider between seats.

There was also a wired remote to control the IFE system.

China Airlines Fleet Airbus A330-300 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

China Airlines has two versions of their A330-300 aircraft.

First version is a short-haul configuration with two classes: Business (36 recliner seats) and Economy (277 standard seats).

Second version is a long-haul configuration with two class : Business (30 angle-flat seats) and Economy (277 standard seats).

This aircraft is handicap accessible with redesigned, larger lavatories.

In flight services are free- drinks, snacks and meals.

Business class seats feature a reclining angle of 170 degrees.

All seats are equipped with personal AVOD in-flight entertainment systems which offer an array of  entertainment selections.

In Business Class, multiple-system power connections are also available right at your fingertips.

Business class seats spread across five rows in a 2-2-2 configuration.

China Airlines’ Airbus A330-300s have Business and Economy class cabins, with between 30 and 36 seats in Business, and 277 seats in Economy.

Seats in economy are in a 2-4-2 configuration, common aboard Airbus A330/A340 type aircraft, and great because no economy seat is more than one seat away from the aisle.

The seats have between 31 and 32 inches of pitch.

The paired seats are most likely more comfortable for any passengers traveling solo or in a pair, while the four seats in the middle are better for larger groups traveling together.

The seatback has a video screen, that Seatguru measures at 6.5 inches (however it seemed closer to 5″-5.5″ upon closer examination).

There is also a mesh net that you can use to hold a pair of glasses or a small water bottle, and interestingly enough, a small mirror (not pictured, to the left of the video screen).

The seat is an older one, with a lot of padding and coarse fabric used — something not seen a lot in the age of slimline seats.

The thick padding also made the 31-32 inches of pitch seem tighter than normal.

China Airlines Fleet Boeing 777-300ER Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

China Airlines flies their Boeing 777-300ER in a three class configuration with 40 flat bed Business Class seats, 62 Premium Economy seats, and 256 standard Economy seats.

Economy Family Couch seats are available for purchase at an additional cost and are located in the first Economy Class cabin.

These seats are indicated on the seat map in blue shading.

The cabin itself was beautiful, with wood finishings and a beautiful onboard bar and bookshelves.

Business class is arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, premium economy in a 2-4-2 configuration, and economy in a 3-4-3 arrangement — the latter a tight fit on the 777, but unfortunately becoming widespread.

The economy section seemed pretty standard, but premium economy was spacious (although not quite as spacious as what Lufthansa or Air New Zealand offer).

In business class, the seat itself was reverse-herringbone style, with every seat having direct aisle access.

For storage, there were two compartments on the right-hand side, as well as a compartment in the aisle-side armrest, where the amenity kit was hidden.

There was a 23-inch display at the front of the seat, which could control with a remote control that was hidden in one of the side compartments.

There was a AC power outlet and two USB ports for charging.

The business-class cabin had two bathrooms, both with windows, which is rare.

But the most unique aspect of the aircraft was the onboard bar.

Premium economy seats are arranged in a 2-4-2 layout across eight rows and offer a 19-inch seat width as well as a 39-inch pitch.

Each comes with a 12.1-inch IFE touchscreen, metal tray table, water bottle holder at the side, reading light, USB charging port, and a dedicated drinks holder.

China Airlines Fleet Boeing 747-400 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

China Airlines operates passenger aircraft Boeing 747-400 with double cabin configuration, business (61 seats) and economy class (314 seats).

This configuration is refurbished version from the old layout.

The old cabin layout of China Airlines Boeing 747-400 including first class cabin.

The First Class 180-degree lie-flat beds are side by side and not in the more private individual pods installed in the latest third generation.

Business Class features older style recliners and does not have the lie flat beds many other airlines have installed.

Personal video screens are available in First and Business Class and are slowly being installed in Coach.

Coach has only average legroom, while many Asian airlines have two or three more inches of legroom in their long-haul Economy Class cabins.

The aircraft featured a two-class layout with 70 seats in business class, and 319 in economy.

Business class seats are arranged in either a 2-2 or 2-3-2 configuration, with all 24 on the upper deck being the former.

Business seats all face forward and are the angled lie-flat type.

But the size is generous with a 60-inch pitch and width of 19 inches.

There is a simple pull out tray table, an inflight entertainment unit, and a reading lamp located beside the headrest.

Unlike the growing number of carriers that have begun using touch screens, China Airlines still uses the conventional remote control set in the hand rest.

Seats on the upper deck are quieter as they are located further away from the engine.

Row 9 on the upper deck offers ample legroom, as there is a big gap between it and row 8.

Food is served from the back, so for those who do not wish to be frequently interrupted, the seats located at the back of each cabin should also be avoided.
