French bee Fleet Airbus A350-1000 Details and Pictures. In 2022, the company will welcome two A350-1000s with 480 seats, allowing fuel savings of more than 9 percent per seat compared to the A350-900.

French Bee’s A350-1000s are likely the world’s lowest cost long haul aircraft in terms of per-seat operating costs.

Ticketing options for passengers include ‘Basic’, which includes one carry-on bag, ‘Smart’, which includes a checked bag and inflight meal, and ‘Premium’, offering two inflight meals, baggage services, Premium cabin seat choice, ‘line jump’, priority boarding, and priority luggage delivery.

The A350-1000 features Airbus’ Airspace cabin, including state-of-the-art, in-flight passenger entertainment (IFE) and full WiFi connectivity throughout the cabin.

The A350-1000, Airbus’ largest widebody in the twin-engine category, features the latest aerodynamic design, a carbon fibre fuselage and wings, plus new fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines.

Since launching operations, French Bee has operated a fleet of four Airbus A350-900s, featuring a total of 411 seats.

This includes 35 premium economy seats and 376 economy seats, making them among the densest A350-900s out there.

Now the airline is taking delivery of two Airbus A350-1000s, featuring a total of 480 seats.

This includes 40 premium economy seats and 440 economy seats.

In both cabins, all seats enjoy an unprecedented ceiling height (the highest on the market) and larger windows to increase the perception of space on board.

In part, the airline is able to cram so many seats on the plane because there are 10 seats per row in economy, rather than the standard nine.

Just to compare this to some other airlines operating the A350-1000:

  • Air Caraibes A350-1000s feature 429 seats in a three cabin layout (business, premium economy, and economy), which is otherwise the world’s highest density A350
  • Cathay Pacific A350-1000s feature 334 seats in a three cabin layout (business, premium economy, and economy)
  • Qatar Airways A350-1000s feature 327 seats in a two cabin layout (business and economy)

In Eco or Premium, a new travel experience awaits you.

The XWB (Extra Wide Body) aspect of French bee’s A350 ensures comfort for all passengers in both travel classes.

In both cabins, all seats enjoy an unprecedented ceiling height (the highest on the market) and larger windows to increase the perception of space on board.

French bee Fleet Airbus A350-900 Details and Pictures

French bee Fleet Airbus A350-900 Details and Pictures. On current fleet, French bee operates 4 extra wide body aircraft Airbus A350-900.

French Bee, the first French low-cost long-haul airline, has become the first airline to operate solely with Airbus’s newest aircraft, the A350-900 XWB.

While the Airbus A350 isn’t a rarity on operations across the Atlantic Ocean, its services with French bee provide a unique offering.

The low-cost carrier holds four units of the widebody within its fleet, heading to the likes of New York, San Francisco, and soon Los Angeles with the type.

While French bee isn’t the only A350 operator flying between Europe and the US, it is the only low-cost commercial airline to do so.

The new generation Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, developed specifically for this aircraft, make it possible to achieve significant fuel savings and to reduce CO2 emissions by 25 percent.

Particularly light thanks to the use of advanced materials and composites, the A350 XWB is equipped with wings, which change form over the course of the flight, like a bird, and revolutionary “winglets” (external extremity of the wing), which help to optimise the aerodynamics of the plane.

Thanks to these innovations, the A350 XWB can considerably reduce its carbon footprint.

The French bee Airbus A350-900 aircraft are configured with 35 recliner-style seats in Premium Class (Premium Blue) and 376 standard seats in Economy Class (Eco Blue).

All seats feature high-definition touchscreens for selecting audio and visual entertainment. Wi-Fi access is available via various purchase packages.

The French Bee website listed numerous seating types, each with its own cost:

  • Standard seat: middle and aisle seats in the rear cabins for $20
  • Seat sea view: window seats costing a little more at $25
  • Maxi leg seat: exit-row seats and seats with extra legroom cost $45
  • Duo seat: rows with only two seats in them cost $50. The only ones of these I saw were in the emergency-exit rows.
  • Cozy cabin seat: the first five rows of the economy cabin ahead of the boarding door. While the pitch is the same in these rows, French Bee charges $35 each for seats in this cabin.

French bee A350-900 Premium Blue

  • The Premium Class of French bee Airbus A350-900 comprises 35 seats.
  • 7 seats abreast – 2 – 3 – 2
  • Accessible with the Premium fare.
  • This aircraft operates flights on all French bee’s destinations

The characteristics of the “Premium Blue”:

  • A private cabin at the front of the aircraft

Premium economy is arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration, spread across five rows.

Seats measure just 18 inches across, making them an inch narrower than the seats Singapore offers on the same plane — even though SQ’s are arranged in a more dense 2-4-2 configuration.

At just 18 inches wide with 36 inches of pitch, the seats didn’t feel much more spacious than, say, Economy Plus on a United 767, where you’ll find similar width and legroom.

The ergonomic economy class seats have been carefully designed for you to be able to travel in comfort.

And yes, they are leather, because you deserve quality even at the lowest price!

  • The Economy Class of our Airbus A350-900 comprises 376 seats.
  • Accessible with Basic, Basic Plus and Smart fares.
  • This aircraft operates flights on all French bee’s destinations

The characteristics of the “Eco Blue”:

Most Airbus A350 aircraft are configured with 3-3-3 seating, three sections of three seats each, in economy.

However, French Bee and its sister airline Air Caraïbes stand alone among the dozens of airlines operating the A350 in opting for a cramped 3-4-3 configuration.

This arrangement reduces seats to 16.75 inches wide, leaving just 16 inches between armrests.

Aisles measure a tight 16 inches wide.

Between the extra seat per row and no business or first-class cabin, French Bee A350 aircraft are fitted with a whopping 411 seats.

Airbus advertises the A350-900 as accommodating 325 passengers.

French Bee incorrectly advertises its economy cabin on its website.

It claims to have nine seats abreast in 3-3-3 seating instead of the actual 3-4-3 arrangement.

And there are 376 economy seats instead of the 350 seats it claims.

If you want a little more space, you’ll want to target rows 48 to 51.

The curvature of the plane narrows the cabin, so French Bee installed 3-3-3 seating.

While most of the extra space is added to the aisle, the seats are ever-so-slightly wider in these back seats.

Just note that there’s no overhead bin in the middle section of rows 47 to 51, due to the crew rest overhead.

The seat’s tray table measured 14 inches wide and 8.5 inches deep on the sides with a curve in the middle that reduced the depth to as little as 7.5 inches.

The tray table slid back by up to 3 inches.

The massive, 376-seat economy cabin had eight bathrooms, meaning one lavatory needed to serve up to 47 passengers.

There were two in the boarding-door galley, four in the middle galley and two in the rear galley.

Each seat was equipped with a sharp, 10-inch inflight entertainment screen with a modest selection of movies and TV shows.
