Iberia Fleet Airbus A350-900 Details and Pictures. On current fleet, Iberia operates 6 wide-body aircraft Airbus A350-900, with 2 more on orders.

The A350 is a latest-generation aircraft equipped with state-of-the-art technology and designed to save fuel, therefore reducing the environmental impact.

It also offers multiple benefits for passengers, such as wider aisles, larger overhead bins, an air-conditioning system that enhances on-board comfort by providing fresher air, panoramic windows, and much more.

Currently used on the New York route, as from February 2019 it will gradually be phased in for the Buenos Aires route, so that by the end of the year we’ll be using it for one of our daily flights between Spain and Argentina.

Iberia Fleet Airbus A350-900 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

Iberia’s A350-900 aircraft is outfitted with 31 Business Class, 24 Premium Economy and 293 Economy Class seats.

Featuring a 1-2-1 staggered configuration, this layout offers moderate privacy for window seats and centre pairs, but none for anyone seated by the aisles.

Couples will enjoy the cosy centre pairs, whereas fans of window seats will prefer odd-numbered A and L seats for “true” window views.

Iberia have chosen a colour scheme which is completely grey, white and beige throughout.

As a result, the cabin is characterless and insipid.

Red and yellow are not premium brand colours, but Iberia should have really given thought to making at least a splash of colour in the cabin.

A red feature wall with logo, or even a red stripe or writing on the headrests would go a long way to alleviating the disappointing monochrome in business class.

Iberia’s cabin is the least inspiring of any major carrier – first impressions count.

The seat is fully lie-flat and adjustable in intermediate positions.

The tray table, once deployed, is fixed, but the seat will move forward if you cannot reach it.

IFE touch screens are responsive and a fair size, and the choices inoffensive and middle-of-the-road. The moving map is interactive and perspective can be manipulated.

Storage was good and thoughtfully placed, and two USB points and a universal socket ensure you won’t run out of battery.

An interesting foible of this seat is that the “bed” doesn’t properly meet the ottoman.

There’s a gap of around 1.5 inches, so your feet will slightly hang off the ledge.

Economy Cabin

The economy cabin is configured with 34 rows of (mostly) 3-3-3 seating, divided across two cabins.

The forward economy cabin contains rows 21 through 37, and the rear economy cabin continues from row 38 through 54.

Rows are spaced with 30 inches of pitch.

After measuring this, I started preparing myself for a long flight with my knees against the seat in front of me.

Surprisingly, there was enough legroom for my 5 foot, 11 inch frame, possibly thanks to a lumbar curve built into the seats.

Seats measured 18 inches between armrests with 19-inch-wide seat cushions.

While this certainly wasn’t spacious, it was a critical inch more than what’s found on Boeing 787 Dreamliners when configured in the common 3-3-3 arrangement or Boeing 777s when configured in the increasingly standard 3-4-3 arrangement.

Seat headrests could be adjusted vertically by up to 6 inches, and the sides could be folded inward to create a cradle for your head for more comfortable sleeping.

The seatbacks have two storage areas.

There’s a literature-only pouch measuring 13 inches wide and a couple inches deep just beneath the IFE screen.

While partly filled with Iberia magazines, there was enough room for passengers to store passports, boarding passes, phones and other small items.

Below this pouch is a 12-inch-wide standard seatback pocket.

Thanks to the literature pouch, this pocket only contained the safety card and an air-sickness bag but was otherwise free for passenger storage.

To fit the literature pouch, the tray table is a bifold design, measuring 15.5 inches wide by 9 inches deep fully extended.

The table extends a critical 1.5 inches, making working on a small laptop possible when the seat in front of me wasn’t reclined.

(Thankfully the passenger in front of me didn’t recline at all during the flight… not all heroes wear capes.)

The only exception to the 3-3-3 seating arrangement is the exit row at the front of the rear economy cabin (Row 38) and the last row in the back of the rear economy cabin (Row 54).

In both of these places, the window-side sections have only two seats instead of three.

The missing window seat in Row 38 creates two seats with extra legroom: 39A and 39L.

They have the benefits of a window, lots of legroom and aisle access.

Seats 21A through C and J through L also have plenty of legroom because there’s no bulkhead between the premium-economy cabin and economy.

Bassinet mounts were only in the middle seats at the front of each cabin (Row 21 and Row 38).

There are six bathrooms in total for the 293 economy-class seats: four between the economy cabins and two in the rear of the aircraft.

Besides the galley in the front of the premium-economy cabin and the galley in the rear of the aircraft, there was no way of switching from one side of the aircraft to the other.

And flight attendants snapped the galley curtains closed to try to prevent visitors from doing that.

So passengers had to use the bathrooms on their side of the aircraft — unless they wanted to risk irritating the flight attendants.

The middle seats in rows 49 through 53 have significantly lower overhead bins and head space because of the crew rests built in above these seats.

If you struggle to get your bags in the overhead bin, you may want to select seats in this area of the cabin.

While the headroom was fine for seated passengers, the reduced height could lead passengers to hit their heads when crossing the middle seats.

Business Cabin

The very gray business-class cabin is home to 32 lie-flat seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration.

My seat was 2A, a solo seat on the port side of the cabin.

Every other seat was closer to the window, with the others nearer to the aisle.

If you’re traveling alone in the middle section of two seats, you’ll want to select the even rows, as you’ll have more privacy from the passenger next to you.

If you’re traveling as a couple, on the other hand, select the odd rows so you’ll be closer together.

The seat was operated by controls on the side, which gave me different options all the way from an upright seat to fully lie-flat and everywhere in between.

When turned into a bed, the seat was comfortable, with a medium-size pillow and lightweight blanket.

Iberia Fleet Airbus A330-300 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

Iberia’s A330-300 aircraft is one of the first in its’ fleet to be outfitted with its upgraded Business Class product featuring flat-bed seating.

This aircraft operates on long-haul routes with 42 seats in Business Plus, and 278 seats in Economy Class, which Iberia refers to as Tourist Class.

All the flat-bed seats in Business Class have direct access to the aisle.

This particular A330-300 has more seats in the overall business class cabin than the A330-200.

It is also a less technologically advanced, older product than the A350-900.

Within the cabin, there are 29 business class seats, which is 10 more than the A330-200, representing a 53% increase in seats.

The seats are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration across 7 rows with an extra seat in the rear right side of the cabin.

Lavatories and galleys are at both ends of the cabin, so you’ll want to generally avoid the first and last row for your own convenience.

Iberia’s A330-300 also has a premium economy cabin, unlike the older A330-200 variant.

In this cabin, you’ll immediately notice a smaller configuration of 2-3-2.

Also, there are 21 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, which is 3 fewer seats than the A350-900.

There is a galley on the front-right section of the premium economy cabin.

The best seats will be in row 11, which is where the bulkhead is situated.

You’ll want to avoid seat 11A because the protrusion from the exit row door will undoubtedly hinder your legroom.

Iberia’s A330-300 economy class cabin consists of 242 seats, mostly in a 2-4-2 configuration and tapering down to a 2-3-2 configuration towards the back of the plane.

The seats are 18 inches wide and 31 inches in pitch.

This airplane offers 278 seats of two classes.

First 9 rows of seats are the seats of business class.

These seats are divided into two sections.

First section consists of 7 rows of seats and the second – of 2 rows.

These rows contain 4 seats each.

For passengers who need more privacy will be ideal the seats 2A, 2L, 4A, 4L, 6A, 6L and 8A, 8L.

For passengers travelling with a partner will be perfect the following seats: E and G seats of the rows 1, 3, 5, 7 and 8.

The only disadvantage of the seats 1C and 1J is close location of the galley.

The noise from the galley and lavatories will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 7C and 7J.

The best seats in business class are considered the seats 8A and 8L.

The main disadvantage of the seats of the 9th row is location of the more crowded economy class behind.

Economy class seats may accommodate 242 passengers.

Most of the seats have 2-4-2 configuration.

These seats are located in two sections.

First section has 15 rows of seats.

As the tray tables are in the armrests the width of the seats of the 10th row is reduced a little.

Also these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Passengers of the seats 10DEGH will take advantage of extra space for their legs.

These seats are considered good seats.

Location of the lavatories behind and limited recline are the main disadvantages of the seats 24DEGH, 24JL and 25AC.

The second section of economy class seats is located behind the exit row.

This section consists of 17 rows.

Due to the exit row the seats 26DEGH, 27AC and 27JL have extra space for passengers’ legs.

However, these seats are narrower than standard and have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

As the seats 38D and 38H jut out into the aisle they are often bumped by other passengers passing by and service carts.

As the seats 40DEH are misaligned with the seats in front the legroom of these seats is reduced a little.

Also the armrests of these seats are immovable reducing the width.

The noise from the galleys and lavatories behind and limited recline make the seats of the last 42nd row bad seats.

Iberia Fleet Airbus A330-200 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

This A330-200 airplane may accommodate 288 passengers in two classes: business and economy that in Iberia is referred to as tourist class.

Iberia’s A330-200 aircraft is one of the first in its’ fleet to be outfitted with its upgraded Business Class product featuring flat-bed seating.

The aircraft’s business class cabin featured 19 staggered seats (similar to these) and was located between the first two pairs of doors.

Economy class was split across two cabins and featured a total of 269 seats in a “2-4-2” configuration (“2-3-2” towards the end of the aircraft).

The center section of the A330 Business Class cabin offers two different seating arrangements found on alternate rows – one where both seats are close together and one where there’s a sizeable barrier between the two.

The seats closest together will probably suit couples best as, even though there’s a divider that can be raised between the seats, they’re a little close together if you don’t know the person next to you.

These seats also have the advantage of having a fixed table between them and the aisle which gives a feeling of privacy.

The second set of center seats are probably the weakest option on this aircraft.

They’re quite far apart and separated by two fixed tables so they’re not ideal if you plan to communicate with the person next to you during the flight.

They’re also right on the aisle so passengers in these seats are prone to having flight attendants or other passengers brush past them as they go by.

Seat Map and Seating Chart Airbus A330-200 Iberia

Seat Map and Seating Chart Airbus A330 200 Iberia
Seat Map and Seating Chart Airbus A330 200 Iberia

Business class offers 19 flat bed seats each of which has its’ own access to the aisle.

The seats 1C, 1J, 2DH, 3C, 3J, 4DH and 5C face out into the aisle making easier passengers to get in and out of them.

Passengers that need more privacy should choose the seats 1EG, 2A, 2L, 3EG, 4A, 4L and 5EG as these sears are positioned inwards.

The noise from the galleys will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 1C, 1J and 5C, 5E.

Location of the lavatory behind will cause inconvenience to passengers of the seats 4 L and 5G.

Economy class may transport 269 passengers.

The seats of the economy class are divided into 2 sections divided from each other with an exit row.

Most of the seats here have 2-4-2 configuration.

Due to the exit row in front the seats 6AC and 6JL offer extra space for passengers’ legs.

Among disadvantages of these seats: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing, reduced width and proximity of the galley.

Missing windows make the seats 7A and 7L bad seats.

The only disadvantage of the seats 7C and 7J is close location of the galley.

Passengers of the seats 8DEGH will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom but location of the galley in front may cause discomfort.

The seats 25JL, 26AC and 26DEGH are less reclining than standard.

Other passengers tend to congregate in the area of these seats while waiting to use lavatories thus causing discomfort to passengers of thee seats.

Second section of economy class seats consists of 16 rows.

Thanks to the exit row located in front of the seats of the 27th row offer extra space for passengers’ legs.

However, as the tray tables are in the armrests the width of these seats is reduced a little.

Also there is no floor storage during take-off and landing and the noise from the lavatories may cause discomfort as well.

As there is no seat behind the seat 37H is often bumped by other passengers and crew members passing by.

The main disadvantage of the seats 40C and 40J is close location to the lavatory.

The seats 41AC, 41JL and 42DEH are considered bad seats due to limited recline and the noise from the galleys and lavatory located behind.
