Air Canada Fleet Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

This aircraft operates in a three class configuration with 20 seats in Business Class, 21 seats in Premium Economy, and 210 seats in Economy Class.

Business Class flat bed seating features a full length massage function with each seat getting direct aisle access, and Economy Class featuring new slimline seats.

Like Air Canada’s 777-200LRs — which the carrier has been retrofitting — 777-300ERs and 787-9s, the 787-8 has the airline’s newest business-class seats, customized B/E Aerospace Super Diamonds liked you’d find on some of AA’s retrofitted 777-200s and 787-9sVirgin Australia’s 777-300ERs and most of Qatar Airways’ long-haul fleet.

The business-class cabin on this aircraft was much smaller than the one on Air Canada’s other long-haul jets, though.

There are just 20 seats compared to the 28-40 on the airline’s two other versions of the 777-300ER and the 30 aboard the 787-9.

On the 787-8, there’s just a single business-class cabin with five rows of four seats each.

The seats are configured in a reverse-herringbone 1-2-1 layout.

Each seat is 21 inches wide and reclines to a full length of 80 inches, so it’s a few inches longer than those aboard the 777s.

You actually get about five more inches by putting down the thick armrest on the aisle, which is nice for sleeping.

You can adjust both the headset and the lumbar support and turn on a massage function, while the firmness of the mattress can also be tweaked to your liking.

Behind business class is a section with two lavatories and the galley, then a small premium economy cabin with three rows arranged in a 2-3-2 pattern.

Finally, there are two economy cabins with a total of 210 seats arranged in a tight 3-3-3 configuration.

Inside the storage cubby in the armrest, there’s set of noise-canceling headphones and the touch screen remote for the IFE system.

This compartment also contained a universal power outlet, a USB port and the port for the headphones.

It was little, but had enough space for me to store my power cords, camera and phone during the flight.

Embedded in the armrest was a small touch screen that controlled the individual parts of the seat.

You could use it or actual buttons to select from three pre-set positions: sit, relax and rest.

Boeing 787-8 airplane operated by Air Canada may accommodate 251 passengers in three classes.

Business class consists of 5 rows of seats that have 1-2-1 configuration.

Close location of the galleys will represent problem to passengers of the seats 1A and 1K as these seats recline inwards towards the aisle.

Passengers traveling with babies are often seated on the seats 1D and 1G as these seats have bassinet location.

The seats 5A and 5K don’t have windows.

Behind the exit row 3 rows of Premium Economy class seats are located.

There are totally 21 seats here.

The seats of the 12th row have no footrest, as the tray tables are built-in the armrests, the width of these seats is reduced a little.

Also there is no storage for these seats during take-off and landing.

These seats have bassinet location, passengers with infants are often seated here.

In addition the seats 12A and 12H are missing windows.

Economy class may transport 210 passengers.

The seats of the economy class are divided into two sections.

Most of the seats here have 3-3-3 configuration.

The seats of the 18th row are classified by Air Canada as preferred seats that may be reserved by any passenger for additional charge or by elite members free of charge.

Passengers of these seats will take advantage of extra space for passengers’ legs.

These seats have bassinet location for passengers with infants.

Among disadvantages of these seats: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing, these seats are narrower than standard as the tray tables are in the armrests making them immovable.

Close location of the lavatories may cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 29DEG and of the seats of 30th row.

The second section of Economy class seats is located behind the exit row.

The seats of the 31st row are designated by Air Canada as preferred seats.

Passengers tend to gather in this area in order to visit lavatories while waiting to use lavatories.

These seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing and are narrower than standard as the tray tables are in the armrests making them immovable.

The seats 31A and 31K have less room because of the curvature of the airplane.

The seats 39A and 39K have misaligned windows.

Proximity of the galleys and lavatories will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 40ABC, 40HJK and of the seats of 42nd row.

These seats are considered bad seats.

Air Canada Rouge Fleet Boeing 767-300ER Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

This wide-body long range Boeing 767-300ER aircraft features next generation wireless streaming of entertainment content to passenger laptops, tablets, or smartphones with iPads available to rent.

The Premium Rouge cabin is arranged in a 2-2-2 layout with standard recliner seats.

The seats themselves have definitely seen better days, as the padding around the seatback and headrest was really worn.

Aside from the 5 inches of recline, there’s a footrest to keep you comfortable.

The 36-inch seat pitch and 19-inch width is a bit tight for a domestic first-class configuration.

There’s an extended armrest between seats that does a decent job of separating you from your neighbor.

The only storage you’ll find at these seats is in the seatback pocket.

The 19.5-inch wide and 9-inch long tray table that folds out from the armrest barely fit with 15-inch laptop.

Sadly, there are no personal air vents on this aircraft.

Furthermore, the overhead bins are tiny, which caused most passengers to have trouble storing their rollaboards.

There’s one bathroom for the 24-seat cabin.

It wasn’t stocked with any additional amenities, and it felt like it came straight out of the 1990s Boeing lookbook.

Each seat featured a power port.

There’s also a USB port hidden next to the flight attendant call button.

Because these‘s no seatback entertainment, the airline handed out 9.7-inch iPads preloaded with a few movies.

The Bluetooth function is locked on these tablets, so be sure to bring your wired headphones.

Otherwise, you’ll need to use the cheap earbuds that they handed out.

This aircraft is used during the flights to Edinburgh, Venice, Athens, and other European cities.

Premium rouge class consists of 3 rows of seats that have 2-2-2 configuration.

All these seats are standard and have 7 degree recline.

Economy or rouge class includes 246 seats divided into two sections.

Economy class seats also contain rouge plus seats.

These seats may be reserved only for additional charge.

So, the seats of the 12th row belong to rouge plus class.

These seats have two inches more recline than other standard seats of the economy class and five more inches of the pitch.

As to the seats 12DEF, they have a small bulkhead position above that may cause some inconvenience.

Also these seats are narrower than standard because the tray tables are built-in the armrests making them immovable.

These seats have basinet location that is why passengers that are traveling with babies are often seated here.

The seats of the last rows in the first section, i.e. the seats 24DEF and the seats of the 25th row are located close to the galley and lavatories that may cause inconvenience to passengers of these seats.

In addition the seats 25C and 25HK may have less legroom because of entertainment equipment that is stored here.

The seats of the 26th row are located between two exit rows.

Other passengers tend to gather in this area in order to use lavatories and causing discomfort to passengers of these seats.

Among other disadvantages: reduced width of these seats as the tray tables are in the armrests, limited recline due to exit row located behind.

The seats 26C and 26H have less legroom as entertainment equipment is stored here.

Second section of economy class consists of 21 rows of seats that have 2-3-2 configuration.

The seats of the 27th row belong to rouge plus class.

These seats have two extra inches of recline and five additional inches of the pitch.

The seats 27C and 27H are the best seats here.

The other seats of 27th row have some disadvantages.

So, the seats 27A and 27K have slightly limited space due to the exit door protrusion and have no windows side armrests causing discomfort to passengers of these seats.

Among disadvantages of the seats 27DEF is bulkhead partition located above that may be bothersome, reduced width of the seats.

Also these seats have basinet location that is why on these seats are often seated passengers with infants.

The seats of the last 47th row are considered bad seats as they have limited recline and are located close to lavatories.

In addition the seat 47H has less space for passengers’ legs as entertainment equipment box is located here.

The second cabin version of Boeing 767-300ER is operated by Air Canada Rouge on the routes to European cities.

This version includes 280 passenger seats.

Premium rouge class contains 4 rows of seats per 6 in each.

All the seats are standard only the seats of the 1st row have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Economy class seats are located in two sections, most of them have 2-3-2 configuration.

The seats of the rows 12-15 belong to rouge plus class.

The seats of the 12th row have less space for passengers’ legs because of the bulkhead position.

Extra fee should be paid to reserve these seats.

These seats are often used by passengers that are traveling with babies as these seats have basinet location.

In addition these seats are narrower than standard as the tray tables are in the armrests.

The main disadvantage of the seats of 26th row is close location of the lavatories.

Entertainment equipment stored under the seats 26B and 26H may restrict legroom.

The seats 27AC and 27HK are located between two exit rows that is why these seats may have limited recline.

Other passengers tend to gather in this area in order to visit lavatories and cause discomfort to passengers of these seats.

As the tray tables are built-in the armrests, the width of these seats is reduced a little.

Plus the seats 27C and 27H may have less legroom space due to entertainment equipment that is stored here.

The other seats of the 27th row, i.e. the seats 27DEF and the seats 28AC and 28HK are rouge plus seats for which extra charge must be paid.

These seats have two more inches recline and five more inches of the pitch.

The seats 28A and 28K may have a little less space because of the exit door protrusion, have mo window-side armrest and have misaligned windows.

As to the seats 27DEF, these seats have small bulkhead partition above, the width of these seats is reduced.

As there is basinet location here, passengers with babies are often seated here.

Proximity of the lavatories will represent a problem to passengers of the seats 49AC, 49DF, 49HK, 50DEF and 51F.

As the seats 49AC, 49HK, 50DEF and 51F may have limited recline these seats are considered bad seats.

Air Canada Boeing 767 375ER C FTCA at Zürich Kloten ZRH LSZH Switzerland

Air Canada Fleet Boeing 767-300ER Details and Pictures. On current fleet, Air Canada operated 6 wide-body aircraft Boeing 767-300ER to serves their medium-long range routes.

With a length of almost 55 m and a wingspan of 47.6 m, the Boeing B767-300ER is capable of a cruising speed of 530 mph/851 km/h at 35,000 ft.

Its maximum range is 11,065 km/5,975 mi, while the maximum speed is 568 mph/913 km/h at 35,000 ft.

These twin-aisle aircraft can fly non-stop between Toronto and Tel-Aviv and are some of the most fuel efficient long-rang planes in operation.

They are used for both Trans-continental and Trans-Atlantic flights and there are four different models currently in use.

As you will not necessarily know which model you are flying on, it may be best to choose a “safe” seat, i.e. one that on all models is similar!

Air Canada Fleet Boeing 767-300ER Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

This Boeing 767-300ER version has 211 seats and two classes of service.

Onboard classes include: Business (Air Canada Signature Class) and Economy.

The business class cabin is configured with 24 seats in a single-cabin 1-1-1 herringbone layout where the A-seats face the aisle and the middle F-seats and the window K-seats face the other aisle (and each other).

Seats along the left side window have their own aisle, which offers more privacy, while seats on the right share an aisle.

If you are traveling alone, try to get the A side.

Those traveling with someone else should sit across the aisle from each other on the F-K side to facilitate conversation.

Seats are large, well-cushioned and very private. Headphones were (unusually) hardwired into the seats and could not be removed or replaced with personal headphones.

High walls between seats make conversation with seat mates difficult.

And due to the herringbone configuration, it’s tough to get a good view out the window.

The 767 is an older plane with smaller overhead bin space.

These bins could barely accommodate a standard rollaboard carryon turned sideways.

Since Air Canada plans to replace these old birds with new 787s, its unlikely that overhead bins will be replaced before they are retired.

Nonetheless, there was no problem fitting all passenger carryons in the space provided.

Compared to the new Executive Pod, the herringbone seats are very narrow, there is limited storage around the seat and zero privacy.

There is a small space under the footrest which is only big enough to store your shoes or a small bag.

There is a small cut-out next to the seat, in front of the life jacket compartment, which is too small to store anything.

On the other side, there is a literature pocket, water bottle and a shelf.

Signage clearly instructs you not to store anything on the air vents that are located directly behind your seat.

The seat converts to a flatbed and even when you are laying down there are still passengers sitting across from who you can look straight in at you as you sleep.

There are two lavatories at the front of the cabin.

Air Canada Fleet Boeing 737 Max 8 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

Air Canada has configured the aircraft with 16 recliner-style Business Class seats and 153 standard Economy Class seats.

54 seats are designated as Preferred offering additional legroom plus priority boarding that may be selected for an additional fee or selected free depending on fare and/or Altitude status).

Air Canada has now revealed the seatmap and specifications for their 737 MAX 8:

  • The 737 MAX 8 will have 16 business class seats and 153 economy class seats
  • Economy class seats will feature 30″ of pitch and 18″ of width
  • Business class seats will feature 38″ of pitch and 21″ of width
  • There will be a personal television at every seat (as a point of comparison, American has decided to eliminate personal televisions on their newest planes), as well as wifi

Air Canada’s configuration is identical to United’s 737-800s up until the exit row — United also has 16 first class seats, and then nine rows of extra legroom economy seating, including the two exit rows (that’s a lot of preferred seats).

However, Air Canada manages to squeeze in an extra three seats in the back behind the exit row, though that seems to be accomplished by putting the bathrooms at the very back, rather than in front of the rear exits.

In other words, the galley space will be smaller and cabin will be bigger.

Most of Air Canada’s narrowbody fleet presently has at least 31″ of seat pitch, so this is a downgrade in terms of personal space.

However, with seat design changing, airlines are often able to reduce pitch with materially reducing legroom.

Seat Map and Seating Chart Boeing 737 MAX 8 7M8 Air Canada
Seat Map and Seating Chart Boeing 737 MAX 8 7M8 Air Canada

Boeing 737 Max 8 operated by Air Canada may accommodate 169 passengers.

Passengers may choose from two classes: business and economy.

First 4 rows of seats are business class seats.

These seats have 2-2 configuration.

The seats of the 1st row are located at the bulkhead.

These seats have some disadvantages: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing, location of the entertainment display on the bulkhead and noise from the galley and lavatory located in front.

Economy class may accommodate 153 passengers.

The seats of the rows 12-20 are designated by Air Canada as Preferred seats.

These seats offer extra space for passengers’ legs and priority boarding.

However, even some of the preferred seats have disadvantages.

So, the seats of the 12th row have the following disadvantages: limited legroom, reduced width, no floor storage during take-off and landing.

In addition, the seats 12A and 12F have no windows, that is why these seats are considered bad seats as well as the seat 16A.

The only disadvantage of the seats 17A and 17F is misaligned window.

Due to the exit row located behind the seats of the 18th row have limited recline.

The seats of the 19th row are located between two exit rows.

That is why passengers of these seats will feel comfortable thanks to the additional legroom but limited recline because of the exit row located behind may be bothersome.

The best seats of the economy class are the seats of the 20th row because these seats offer extra legroom to passengers.

Location of the galleys and lavatories behind may cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 36C, 36DEF and 37ABC.

Limited recline, reduced personal space when the seats in front are reclined make the seats 36DEF and 37ABCbad seats.

This aircraft features seat back televisions and audio at each seat, even for short domestic services.

Passengers should bring their own headphones to avoid a potential $3CAD charge.

The 27 business class seats are arranged in a herringbone configuration, in which every seat faces outwards openly into the aisle.

The layout is 1-1-1, with the “A” seats along the left-side windows having far more privacy than either the “F” seats down the middle or the “K” seats along the right-side windows, since you’re facing out against a divider rather than a fellow passenger.

The one-two-one configuration means everyone has aisle access.

There is good storage space underneath the ottoman at the foot of your seat and handy compartments for water bottles, reading matter, phones and spectacles in the arm rests, where you’ll also find the remote control, headphone jack, USB and power adapter.

There’s no turn-down service, but controls are easy to use, converting the seat into a 203cm (six foot, seven inches) flat bed at one touch.

You can adjust the firmness of the mattress, as well as the lumbar support and headrest height.

The in-seat massage function got a good work-out during the 14-hour flight.

Mattress cover and a light doona and large pillow are provided, along with slippers but no pajamas, so if you are planning on sleeping for most of the flight consider packing something sleep-friendly in your cabin bag.

Amenity packs include the basics – socks, earplugs, eye mask (you’ll need them if you’re in row 1 near the brightly lit galley and bathroom), toothbrush, lip balm and hand cream by Vancouver-based aromatherapy brand, Vitruvi – you’ll find their products in the bathroom too, which also has a large window with a great view.

The large fixed-screen TV has a remote control as well as a touch-screen menu.

There’s a variety of new releases with a wide range of language options – if you like French movies you’ll love the selection – as well as classics, binge-worthy TV series, audio books and podcasts, mostly on travel destinations.

The save function means you can build a list to watch during the flight.

The noise-cancelling headphones deliver crisp sound and the inflight map is displayed at the bottom of the screen, so you can check your progress without interrupting the show.

The Premium Economy configuration on Air Canada’s 330 is 2-3-2.

The seats are wide and there’s plenty of space between rows.

Each seat also has a foot rest, excluding the bullhead ones.

The addition of the footrest makes it a little easier to sleep in a reclining mode.

Each seat also comes with a designated power charger – and you don’t have to share one with the person next to you.

Seat Map and Seating Chart Airbus A330 300 Air Canada Version 1

This airplane may transport 265 passengers in two classes.

This version is the most common among two versions operated by Air Canada and is used during long-haul transcontinental flights to Europe.

Business class consists of 37 open suites that are located in 2 sections.

First section has 9 rows of seats per 3 in each.

All A seats of the business class have more privacy as they face a part of the aisle and not the seat of another passenger.

Proximity of the lavatory and galley may represent a problem for passengers of the seats of the 1st row.

The seats 9A and 9K are considered bad seats as they have no windows and close location of the galleys may be bothersome.

However passengers of these seats will fell more privacy as there are closets here that are adjacent to these seats.

The second section contains remaining 10 open suites of the business class.

The seat 10A has the following disadvantages: there is no windows here, the closet, galley and main boarding door are located too close to this seat.

Close location of the lavatory will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 11G and 11K.

Economy class may transport 228 passengers.

The seats in the economy class are also divided into two sections.

First sections contains 13 rows of seats, most of them have 2-4-2 configuration.

The seats of the 18th row are designated by Air Canada as preferred seats that may be chosen by any passenger for additional fee.

Elite members may reserve these seats free of charge.

Passengers of the seats 18AC and 18HK may take advantage of extra knee space but not necessarily for the legs.

All the seats of the 18th row have basinet location that is why passengers with babies are often seated here.

The seats 18DEFG are often bumped by other passengers passing by and service carts because of the alignment of these seats.

Close location of the lavatories may cause discomfort for passengers of the seats 29DEFG and of the 30th row.

Also these seats may be less reclining because of the bulkhead located behind.

The second section of economy class is located behind exit row and begins with the seats that are designated as preferred seats, these are the seats 34DEFG and the seats 35AC and 35HK.

These seats may be reserved by elite members free of charge, other passengers will have to pay extra fee for these seats.

Other passengers tend to gather in this area in order to visit lavatories and this fact may cause discomfort to passengers of these seats.

At the same time passengers of these seats will take advantage of extra legroom.

The seats 34DEFG also have extra space for the knees.

However, passengers with infants are often seated here as these seats have bassinet location.

All D seats of this section have restricted storage and leg room due to presence of entertainment equipment here.

As there are no seats behind the seats 45D and 45G are often bumped by other passengers passing by and service carts.

Legroom of the seats 46DFG is limited as they are misaligned with the row in front.

Proximity of the lavatories ad galleys will represent problem for passengers of the seats 49DFG and for passengers of the last 51st row.

Second version of Airbus A330 is used also during short domestic flights.

This airplane offers seats of three classes: business, premium economy and economy.

Business class consists of 27 open suites with 180 degrees recline.

Business class occupies first 9 rows of seats that have 1-1-1 configuration.

All these seats can be transformed in a fully bed.

The noise from the galleys and lavatories located in front may cause discomfort to passengers of the seats of the 1st row.

Air Canada Airbus A330 300 Business class inflight meal food Light meal cold plate with lemon and thyme chicken cherry tomato salad and arugula

The seats of the 9th row have the same disadvantage – location of the galleys behind.

Behind the seats of the business class 21 seats of premium economy class are located.

These seats have 7 inches recline.

When this airplane is used during the flights within North America these seats are designated by Air Canada as standard economy class seats.

The seats of the 12th row are considered good seats as they provide extra legroom.

However, these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing and are a little narrower than standard because the tray tables are built-in the armrests making them immovable.

Economy class may accommodate 244 passengers on the seats that have 4 inches recline.

The seats of the economy class are divided into 2 sections separated from each other with an exit row.

First section consists of 15 rows of seats.

There are totally 116 seats here.

Most of these seats have 2-4-2 configuration.

Passengers of the seats of the 18th row will take advantage of extra legroom.

These seats are considered good seats.

Among disadvantages of these seats: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing and slightly reduced seat width.

For passengers traveling with infants the seats 18DEFG offer bassinet location.

Limited recline and location of the lavatories behind are the main disadvantages of the seats 31DEFG, 32AC and 32HK.

Second section of economy class seats consists of 18 rows with totally 128 seats.

Thanks to the exit row located in front the seats 34DEFG, 35AV and 35HK offer extra space for passengers’ legs.

Air Canada Airbus A330 300 Business class inflight meal food Appetizer smoked salmon Fregola salad creme fraiche with lime
Air Canada Airbus A330 300 Business class inflight meal food Appetizer smoked salmon Fregola salad creme fraiche with lime

However, these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing, are a little narrower than standard because the tray tables are in the armrests.

Other passengers tend to gather in the area of these seats and of these seats while waiting to use lavatories causing discomfort to passengers of these seats.

The seats 34DEFG offer bassinet locations for passengers traveling with babies.

Protrusion of the exit doors inside is one more disadvantage of the seats 35A and 35K.

Due to awkward transition of the middle seats of the rows 45-46 from 4 to 3 the seats 45D and 45G are often bumped by service carts and other passengers passing by.

Noise from the galleys and lavatories located behind may represent problem to passengers of the seats 49DFG, 50C, 50H, 51AC and 51HK.

Another disadvantage such as limited recline makes the seats 49DFG, 51AC and 52HK bad seats.

This version is configured with Premium Rouge in Rows 1-4.

Premium Rouge is Air Canada Rouge’s Short Haul Business Class product.

In Rouge Premium there were only 8 seats in a 2-2 configuration.

In economy it was a 3-3 configuration.

The seats had a power plug and USB port in front of the center arm rest.

With 37″ of pitch, 5″ of recline and 21 inches of width the Premium Rouge seats compare similar to Air Canada’s Business Class on their Airbus narrow-bodies and US carriers domestic First Class.

All entertainment is through wireless streaming to your own device or these iPad’s.

The iPad tablets are free for Premium Rouge passengers and can be rented for a $10 fee in Economy.

There is no charge for accessing the IFE with your own device in any cabin.

Despite having the ability to stream this entertainment, Wi-Fi was not available onboard.

Seat Map and Seating Chart Airbus A321-200 Air Canada Rouge

Airbus A321-200 Air Canada Rouge may accommodate 200 passengers in two classes: Premium rouge and Economy class.

Premium Rouge class may transport 16 passengers.

It contains 4 rows of seats per 4 in each.

The seats of the 1st row have the following disadvantages: proximity of the lavatory and galley, reduced width of the seats and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

Economy class seats are divided into rouge plus seats and economy class seats.

These seats are located in three sections.

Passengers of the seats of 12th row will take advantage of extra legroom.

These seats belong to rouge plus class and are considered the best seats.

There are 4 seats in the 16th row.

Windows’ seats are missing.

The seats 16BC and 16DE are less reclining than standard because of the exit row located behind.

The seats of the 17th row are the seats of rouge plus class.

These seats have extra space for passengers’ legs thanks to the exit row in front.

The seats of the 30th row are located in front of another exit row that is why have limited recline.

The other seats that belong to rouge plus are the seats 31ABC, 31DEF and 32DEF.

As all seats of these class these seats are considered the best seats as they have extra legroom.

Presence of lavatories in the tail of the airplane makes passengers congregating in this area while waiting to use them.

This fact may cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 42ABC, 42D and 43EF.

In addition, the seats 42ABC and 43EF may be less reclining but the seat 42D is often bumped by other passengers passing by as there is no seat behind.
