Air India Fleet Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

This Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft seats 256 passengers in a two-class configuration and is used on international long-haul routes.

There are 18 seats in Business Class and 238 seats in Economy Class.

Business Class features flat bed seats with 180 degrees of recline, an exclusive check-in facility, a lounge facility, and a complimentary amenity kit.

Economy Class features improved temperature and illumination control systems, choice of continental or traditional Indian cuisine, and complimentary liquor or wine.

Air India’s 787 business class cabin consists of a total of 18 seats, spread across three rows in a 2-2-2 configuration.

These seats are fully flat and while they’re not cutting edge, they’re a big improvement over what Air India offers in the rest of their fleet.

As you can see, they use some warm colors, as the seats alternate between red and brown finishes, and then there are gold pillows, red carpet, etc.

Each of the seats had an ottoman on the back of the seat in front of it, and in the case of the first row there was just an ottoman by the bulkhead, and the personal televisions were in the armrest.

There’s plenty of storage underneath the ottomans, and then between the personal televisions was more storage, as well as a couple of coat hooks.

The seat controls were on the armrest between seats.

Then the entertainment controller was located underneath the center console.

The armrest could be raised to create a mini-privacy partition, and underneath it was a 110v outlet, USB outlet, and water bottle holder.

The tray table could be extended from the center armrest, and had a faux wood finish.

Air India has individual air nozzles on their 787s, which is great.

Air India’s Economy Class comes in a 3-3-3 configuration with 238 recliner seats in total.

Each of them comes with personal entertainment.

Every seat offers an USB slot and a power outlet.

Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner owned by Air India offer 256 seats of two classes: business and economy.

First three rows of seats offer 18 flat bed business class seats with 180 degrees recline, 74 inches pitch and 22 inches width.

The only disadvantage of the seats of the 1st row is close location of the lavatories to the seats 1AB and of the galleys to the seats 1DF and 1HJ.

Noise from the galleys may also be bothersome for passengers of the seats 3DF.

Behind the exit roe 238 economy class seats are located.

These seats have 33 inches pitch and 17 inches width.

The seats of the economy class are divided into two sections.

First section consists of 17 rows. 16 rows have 3-3-3 configuration and 1 row offers 6 seats.

Thanks to the exit row located in front of the seats of the 11th row these seats offer additional space for passengers’ legs.

Among disadvantages of these seats: noise from the galley located nearby, reduced width because the tray tables are built-in the armrests making them immovable and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

Proximity of the galley is the only disadvantage of the seats 12DEF.

The seats of the 28th row have the following disadvantages: location of the lavatories behind and limited recline because these are the seats of the last row in the section.

Second section of economy class seats is located behind another exit row.

There are 11 rows of seats here.

Passengers of the seats of the 30th row will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom.

However, these seats have the following disadvantages: location of the lavatories in front, no floor storage during take-off and landing and reduced width.

Missing windows make the seats 37A and 37J bad seats.

For passengers travelling with a companion will be ideal the seats 39AB and 39HJ.

However, noise from the lavatories and galleys located behind make these seats bad seats as well as the seats 40DEF that may also have limited recline.

Air India Fleet Boeing 777-300ER Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

Air India Boeing 777-300ER seats 342 passengers in a three-class configuration and is primarily used on long-haul routes.

There are 4 flat bed seats in First Class, 35 flat bed seats in Business, and 303 standard Economy Class seats.

The first class “suites” on the 777-300ER only take up one row of seats, arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration.

This ensures all-aisle access.

Each of them folds into “flatbeds” that measure 23″ in width and come with an 80″ pitch.

There is a nice, large flat screen TV and entertainment console at each suite.

The ottoman is large and used when the seat is in full, lie-flat mode, but also can be used to seat another guest (you can tell because there is a seatbelt there).

There is plenty of storage place, and while the seat cushion felt a bit worn, it was nevertheless comfortable.

One cool feature of the seat is that there’s an “exposed” closet, which is spacious.

You can easily hang quite a bit of stuff there, including a garment bag, potentially.

The seat also had a decent amount of storage.

At the very front of the seat was a shallow storage compartment, good for a pair of glasses or a phone.

Behind the storage compartment was the tray table holder.

The tray table was huge, and sort of tough to remove from its holder, given how heavy it was.

It was also wobbly, and when fully “out” wasn’t a flat surface.

Past the tray table was another panel which opened, housing the entertainment controller, headphone jack, USB outlet, and 110v outlet.

Business-class seats are arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration, compared to 1-2-1 in first class and 3-3-3 in coach.

At less than 20 inches wide, they’re especially narrow — less than two inches wider than the seats in economy.

There’s a fixed table mounted between each seat, so center seats have two tables and window-side seats have one.

The seat controls are located at the end of the armrest.

Economy class cabin continues to be in a generous 3-3-3 layout, which is rare nowadays for a 777.

This airplane has three-class configuration cabin: first, business and economy and may transport 342 passengers.

First class seats are located in the 1st row.

There are totally 4 flat bad seats here that have 80 inches pitch and 23 inches width.

Business class offers 35 flat bed seats with 76 inches pitch and 19.95 inches width.

These seats are located in two sections and have 2-3-3 configuration, i.e. 5 rows per 7 seats in each.

First section consists of 3 rows.

The only disadvantage of the seats of the 10th row is close location of the galleys the noise from which may be bothersome.

Second section of business class seats is located behind the galleys and exit row.

Location of the lavatories, galleys and bassinets may cause discomfort to passengers of the seats of the 12th row.

Economy class is divided from business class seats with a bulkhead.

Economy class may accommodate 303 passengers.

These seats are divided into three sections and have 31-33 inches pitch and 18 inches width.

First section consists of 10 rows of seats: 9 rows have 3-3-3 configuration and one row offers just 3 seats.

Due to position of the bulkhead the seats of the 17th row have limited space for passengers’ legs.

Passengers traveling with babies are often seated here because these seats offer bassinets.

Proximity of the lavatories is the main disadvantage of the seats 25ABC, 25 HJK and 26DEF.

Second section of economy class seats is located behind exit row.

Proximity of the lavatories and position of the bassinets are the disadvantages of the seats 27DEF.

Thanks to the exit row located in front passengers of the seats 27ABC and 27HJK will take advantage of extra legroom.

However location of the lavatories in front may cause discomfort.

Noise from the galleys and lavatories will be bothersome for passengers of the seats 38C, 38H, 39AB, 39D, 39F, 39JK and 40DEF.

Third section of economy class seats is located behind another exit row.

Passengers of the seats of the 41st row will take advantage of extra space for their legs.

At the same time noise from the galleys and lavatories located in front may me bothersome.

The seats 42DEF have the following disadvantages: limited legroom, position of the bassinets and location of the galley in front.

Due to missing seats in front of the seats 43C and 43H these seats offer additional legroom to passengers.

However, other passengers tend to bump into these seats when passing by.

Because of the angling the seats 50A and 50K have extra legroom.

These seats are considered the best seats of the economy class.

The seats of the last 52nd row are considered bad seats because of limited recline and location of the galleys behind.

Air India Fleet Airbus A321-200 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

This Airbus A321 seats 182 passengers in a two-class configuration and is primarily used on short to medium haul routes.

There are 12 recliner seats in Business Class and 170 standard seats in Economy.

The business class cabin consisted of a total of 12 seats, spread across three rows in a 2-2 configuration, while economy is in a 3-3 configuration.

The legroom was reasonably good, marginally better than what you’d find in first class domestically on a US airline.

There was a manual seat recline button on the center armrest, as well as an audio control panel.

Speaking of inflight entertainment, the bulkheads in both business and economy had little things that looked like personal televisions, but really they were just little signs that said “welcome aboard.”

Seat Map and Seating Chart Airbus A321-200 Air India

Seat Map and Seating Chart Airbus A321 200 Air India
Seat Map and Seating Chart Airbus A321 200 Air India

In the first three rows 12 seats of the business class are located.

These seats have 2-2 configuration.

The pitch of business class seats is 40 inches and the width is 21 inches.

The only disadvantage of the seats of the 1st row is close location of the galley and lavatory in front.

Economy class offers 170 seats that have 31-32 inches pitch and 17-18 inches width.

These seats are divided into three sections.

First section is located behind business class seats that are separated from each other with a bulkhead because of which the seats of the 4th row have restricted space for passengers’ legs.

Among other disadvantages of these seats: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing and a little reduced width because the tray tables and video displays are located in the armrests making them immovable.

Due to the exit row located behind the seats of the 8th row are less reclining.

Behind the exit row second section of economy class seats is located.

This section consists of 13 rows of seats: 12 of them have 3-3 configuration and the last row of the section has 2-2 configuration.

Thanks to the exit row located in front passengers of the seats of the 9th row will feel comfortable because these seats offer extra legroom and are considered the best seats.

However, built-in tables and video monitors reduce the width of these seats.

Limited recline is the main disadvantage of the seats of the 21st row.

The third section of economy class seats is located behind another exit row and consists of 11 rows that have 3-3 configuration.

Passengers of the seats of the 22nd row will take advantage of extra legroom.

At the same time the width of these seats is reduced a little because the tray tables and video monitors are built-in the armrests making them immovable.

The noise from the galley and lavatories located behind is the only disadvantage of the seats 31C and 31D.

Proximity of the galley and lavatories and limited recline make the seats of the last 32nd row bad seats.
