Malaysia Airlines Fleet Boeing 737-800 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

Malaysia Airlines operates the Boeing 737-800 on short-haul flights with 16 seats of Business Class and 144 seats of Economy Class.

Business Class: Meal tray table conveniently stowed in the armrest.

Cocktail tables are available at the center armrest.

Individual overhead reading lights.

Seat cover: Woolen.

Headrest cover: Linen.

Seats are arranged in pairs (2-2).

Economy Class: Seatback meal tray tables are available except in the front row which is an ‘in-arm’ table.

Individual overhead reading lights.

Seat cover: Woolen.

Headrest cover: Paper disposable.

Seats are arranged as 3-3.

This aircraft is configured with 150 Economy seats arranged three either side of a single aisle with 16 recliner seats in four rows in Business class.

The leather seats are comfortable, although there is no headrest or footrest.

With a seat width of 17″ and a pitch of 30″, it’s a standard seat, a little cramped but it’s a short flight so not a major problem.

The seats recline adequately despite being in front of an exit row, though if you’re on a longer flight, you may find it uncomfortable.

The armrests can be raised to tuck into the gap between the seats.

Legroom is a tight, standard 10″ which makes it difficult to climb out if you need to go to the washroom.

There is no footrest, but the space beneath the seat in front is clear for all seats, as the entertainment unit is not placed here, often an issue when it takes up passengers legroom in window seats in some airlines/aircraft.

This extra space is more than enough for a small bag to be pushed completely into the space, of for longer legged passengers to stretch out more easily.

The magazine space is quite tight, enough to fit a mobile phone to charge, or a novel.

Passengers can choose their preferred seat when booking their flight or when they check in online.

Also, passengers can change their seat selection or other flight details via Manage My Booking.

Malaysia recently updated the business-class cabin on the A330s it uses for flights to Australia, and it’s a big step up.

This version of the carrier’s A330s offer staggered seating with a peculiar configuration that alternates between 1-2-1 (rows 1, 4 and 6) and 1-2-2 (rows 2, 5, and 7).

Since the seats are staggered, some window seats offer more privacy than others.

The entertainment system was a slightly older version than on the A350, although it was still fairly responsive.

You can control the IFE using the touchscreen, there’s also a USB port and three-prong headphone jack, along with a universal power port.

In Economy class, the seat width has been increased from 17 inches to 17.5 inches, however the seat pitch has been reduced from 33 inches to 32 inches.

In Business class, both seat width and seat pitch have been increased.

Seat width has gone up from 18.5 inches to 20 inches while seat pitch is now 60 inches, up from 45 inches.

Seats in both classes now also have greater headrests.

Economy seats are equipped with a four way adjustable headrest while business class seats have a six way adjustable headrest instead of the standard headrest available on the older A330-300.

Other new in-flight features include a power plug and USB port for electronic devices, mood lighting and larger windows for a more spacious feel, larger stowage bins and an advanced AVOD in-flight entertainment system in both cabins.

Malaysia Airlines Fleet Airbus A330-200 Details and Pictures. On current fleet, Malaysia Airlines operates 9 wide-body aircraft Airbus A330-200.

There’s 6 passengers aircraft, and 3 cargo aircraft.

Malaysia Airlines configured their Airbus A330-200 on 2 class, business and economy class.

Economy class cabin divided on standard and extra leg room.

The Oneworld member airline, which has been eager to boost the size of its twin-aisle A330 fleet for some time, swooped on the insolvent German airline and took over a six-year lease on a half-dozen Airbus A330-200 jets.

The Malaysian flag-carrier will retain Airberlin’s original seating rather than fit its latest A330 business class seats, although materials such as seat covers will be changed to remove the German airline’s branding.
