Air Canada Fleet Boeing 777-300ER Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout
The Boeing 777-300ER (77W) is a long-range, high capacity airliner which features Air Canada’s new interior.
All seats in this aircraft feature personal inflight audio and video entertainment on demand.
This Boeing 777-300ER was equipped with Air Canada’s new “Studio Pod” International Business Class seats.
These seats are similar to the business class seats that you will find on Austrian, Brussels, Finnair and SWISS.
The single seats offered the most privacy and space for solo travelers and every single seat had direct aisle access.
Every seat was equipped with USB and universal power ports, personal AVOD entertainment and a reading light.
The seat can be converted into a true lie-flat bed. However, the problem was that when fully reclined, your legs extended into a very tight cubby hole located below your IFE monitor.
These seats are NOT good for anyone taller than 5’8’’ or people that are on the wider side.
There was no “turn down” service or extra padding for people who wanted to sleep.
Premium economy runs from row 12 to 14 and is configured 2-4-2 (A-C, D-E-F-G, H-K), with a galley and washrooms ahead, and economy behind.
The pitch (38 inches) was seven inches greater than in economy, while recline (eight inches) was two inches more.
Upholstered in navy leather, the seat felt spacious and comfortable, and had a footrest and a headrest with wings.
The fold-out tray table was stable for working on.
There was a magazine pocket and plenty of overhead locker space.
The ten-inch touchscreen in-flight entertainment screens pull out towards you if the seat in front is reclined.
There was a good choice of recently released movies, and built-in seat power and USB sockets.
In-ear headphones, a bottle of water and an amenity kit with socks, eyemask, earplugs and toothbrush/paste were provided.
A-C and H-K are a good choice, as are aisle seats 13D/G and 14D/G. Avoid E-F.
Aisle seats in row 12 are close to the galley so there may be some disturbance from crew coming by with trolleys.
Seats 14D-E-F-G are in front of economy class bassinets attached to the bulkhead.
Washrooms are shared with business class

Passengers with infants are often seated here.
Proximity of the lavatory may also represent a problem for passengers of the seats 7A and 7K.

The seats of the 12th row are considered good seats as they have extra legroom thanks to the bulkhead position.

First section consists of 6 rows of seats that have 3-4-3 configuration.
The seats 18DEFG have basinet location.
Close location of the seats of 23rd row to the lavatories may be bothersome.
Passengers of the seats 30DEFG, 31ABC and 31HJK will feel comfortable due to extra legroom.
However, due to proximity of the lavatories other passengers tend to congregate in this area while waiting to use lavatories.
The seats 30DEFG have bassinet location.
The economy class seats of the last rows of the second section and namely the seats 43ABC, 43DEFG, 43H, 44H and 45HJK have the only disadvantage – proximity of the galley and lavatories.
The main advantage of the seats 50DEFG and of the seats 51ABC and 51HJK is extra space for passengers’ legs.
Other passengers tend to gather in this area to use lavatories.
The seats 60C and 60H are often bumped by other passengers due to missing seats behind.
Close location of the galley and lavatories may cause inconvenience to passengers of the seats 63BD, 63GJ and of the seats of the last 64th row.

But other passengers tend to congregate in this area while waiting to use lavatories.
Passengers traveling with infants are often seated on the seats 31DEFG that have bassinet location.
The only disadvantage of the seats of 45th row is proximity of the lavatories.
The last, 3rd section of Economy class seats is located behind another exit row.
That is why passengers of the seats of the 50th row will feel comfortable here thanks to extra legroom.
However, proximity of the lavatories may be bothersome.
The middle seats of the 50th row, i.e. the seats 50DEFG have bassinet location.
Due to missing seats behind the seats 59C and 59H are often bumped by crew members and other passengers passing by.
Close location of the galleys may cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 62ACD, 62 GJK and of the seats 63DEFG.
As the seats 62AC, 62 JK and 63DEFG are also less reclining these seats are considered bad seats.

All seats feature personal inflight audio and video entertainment on demand.
Air Canada currently has six Boeing 777-200LR configured with 40 ‘Executive Pod’ Business Class seats, 24 seats in Premium Economy, and 236 seats in Economy Class.
Air Canada has selected the excellent Rockwell Collins (formerly B/E Aerospace) Super Diamond reverse herringbone seat for its 777 and 787 fleet.
Positioned in a 1-2-1 configuration, all seats have direct aisle access and are convertible into a lie-flat bed.
A large pillow and duvet is provided however there is no ‘turn down service’ or mattress topper.
26 seats are in the front cabin and 14 in the rear mini-cabin.
There is excellent storage around the seat including a deep storage bin alongside the window where the remote control, headphone jack, USB and power adapter are located.
This means you can charge small electronic devices and have the lid closed so everything is out of sight.
The literature pocket is located under the tray table alongside the window, as well as another storage pocket in front.
Additional storage space is located under the armrest, however, this is exposed to the aisle, so I would not recommend storing anything of value in there.
The seat has an electronic height adjustable headrest and massage feature.
The premium economy seats on this aircraft are 20 inches wide, excluding the armrest.
Premium economy passengers are issued with the same low-grade headphones as economy class, but with a little jiggling you can use your smartphone’s earbuds in the same audio jack for much better audio.
Air Canada arranges their 777-200lr economy cabin in a 3-4-3 configuration, which is becoming the norm these days.
The 777s have plenty of legroom, at around 32 inches of pitch, with the standard 17.5 inches of seat width – more than ample for most.
This was one of Air Canada’s refitted 777s, so the plane was equipped with new, slimline seats, as well as Premium Economy, the new Reverse Herringbone seats in Business, and the new Panasonic ex3 entertainment system in all classes (more on that in a bit).

Passengers of the seats of 18th row will feel comfortable thanks to the extra legroom.
This seats are designated by Air Canada as preferred seats.
An extra fee should be paid to reserve these seats.
The only disadvantage of the seats 26ABC, 27DEFG and 28HJK is proximity of the lavatories.
The second section of economy class seats contains 15 rows.
The seats of the 30th row are designated by Air Canada as preferred seats.
These seats have extra legroom.
To reserve these seats an extra fee should be paid.
Other passengers tend to gather in this area while waiting to visit lavatories causing some discomfort to passengers of these seats.

Air Canada’s Boeing 787-900 is primarily flown on long-haul routes and features a three class configuration with 30 Business Class Suites, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 247 standard Economy seats.
The business-class cabin is laid out in a 1-2-1 configuration, with eight seats along each wall and seven pairs in the center, for a total of 30 seats.
Each seat is 21 inches wide and 80 inches long when fully flat.
While the seat itself is similar to the reverse herringbone products you might find on American Airlines or Cathay Pacific, its comfortable and well-designed.
The storage compartment on the right — which housed the power outlet, USB plug, headphone port and handheld IFE controller — was perfectly sized for smaller items like my phone and wallet.
The surface next to it was big enough to store my headphones and a water bottle, and I never had a problem with anything sliding around even when we hit turbulence.

The seat controls were located on the right, with a touch screen display that could adjust individual parts of the seat, as well as buttons to allow it to become a bed or be fully upright.

Each seat has it’s own armrest and there is a small cup rest between seats.

Air Canada Fleet Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout
This aircraft operates in a three class configuration with 20 seats in Business Class, 21 seats in Premium Economy, and 210 seats in Economy Class.
Business Class flat bed seating features a full length massage function with each seat getting direct aisle access, and Economy Class featuring new slimline seats.
The business-class cabin on this aircraft was much smaller than the one on Air Canada’s other long-haul jets, though.
There are just 20 seats compared to the 28-40 on the airline’s two other versions of the 777-300ER and the 30 aboard the 787-9.
On the 787-8, there’s just a single business-class cabin with five rows of four seats each.
The seats are configured in a reverse-herringbone 1-2-1 layout.
Each seat is 21 inches wide and reclines to a full length of 80 inches, so it’s a few inches longer than those aboard the 777s.
You actually get about five more inches by putting down the thick armrest on the aisle, which is nice for sleeping.
You can adjust both the headset and the lumbar support and turn on a massage function, while the firmness of the mattress can also be tweaked to your liking.
Behind business class is a section with two lavatories and the galley, then a small premium economy cabin with three rows arranged in a 2-3-2 pattern.
Finally, there are two economy cabins with a total of 210 seats arranged in a tight 3-3-3 configuration.
Inside the storage cubby in the armrest, there’s set of noise-canceling headphones and the touch screen remote for the IFE system.
This compartment also contained a universal power outlet, a USB port and the port for the headphones.
It was little, but had enough space for me to store my power cords, camera and phone during the flight.
Embedded in the armrest was a small touch screen that controlled the individual parts of the seat.
You could use it or actual buttons to select from three pre-set positions: sit, relax and rest.

Air Canada Rouge Fleet Boeing 767-300ER Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout
This wide-body long range Boeing 767-300ER aircraft features next generation wireless streaming of entertainment content to passenger laptops, tablets, or smartphones with iPads available to rent.
The Premium Rouge cabin is arranged in a 2-2-2 layout with standard recliner seats.
The seats themselves have definitely seen better days, as the padding around the seatback and headrest was really worn.
Aside from the 5 inches of recline, there’s a footrest to keep you comfortable.
The 36-inch seat pitch and 19-inch width is a bit tight for a domestic first-class configuration.
There’s an extended armrest between seats that does a decent job of separating you from your neighbor.
