China Airlines operates passenger aircraft Boeing 747-400 with double cabin configuration, business (61 seats) and economy class (314 seats).

This configuration is refurbished version from the old layout.

The First Class 180-degree lie-flat beds are side by side and not in the more private individual pods installed in the latest third generation.

Coach has only average legroom, while many Asian airlines have two or three more inches of legroom in their long-haul Economy Class cabins.

The aircraft featured a two-class layout with 70 seats in business class, and 319 in economy.

Business class seats are arranged in either a 2-2 or 2-3-2 configuration, with all 24 on the upper deck being the former.

Business seats all face forward and are the angled lie-flat type.

But the size is generous with a 60-inch pitch and width of 19 inches.

There is a simple pull out tray table, an inflight entertainment unit, and a reading lamp located beside the headrest.

Unlike the growing number of carriers that have begun using touch screens, China Airlines still uses the conventional remote control set in the hand rest.

Seats on the upper deck are quieter as they are located further away from the engine.

Row 9 on the upper deck offers ample legroom, as there is a big gap between it and row 8.

Food is served from the back, so for those who do not wish to be frequently interrupted, the seats located at the back of each cabin should also be avoided.

Asiana Airlines flies their double-decker Airbus A380-800 in a three class configuration with 12 First Class closed suites, 66 Business Class flat bed seats, and 417 standard Economy Class seats.

Asiana Airlines’ first class is representative of understated luxury.

The cabin finishes can look plain, but the immense seat size, excellent catering, and sliding doors make for a private, delicious, and spacious ride to South Korea.

The A380 contains 12 First Class Suites in 3 rows with a 1-2-1 configuration.

The first class cabin is located at the front of the lower deck, unlike many A380 first class products.

Since the A380 is such a large aircraft, it makes sense that there are more business class seats than on the A350.

There are a total of 66 business class seats, which split into 2 mini-cabins.

These Smartium Business seats are arranged in the same staggered 1-2-1 configuration.

You’d want to avoid seats in row 24, 11, and 7 due to their proximity to the galley and lavatories.

Each of the economy seats measures an astonishing 18.9 inches in width and 33 inches in pitch.

These 417 seats are some of the biggest economy seats in the business!

The configuration is relatively mixed, with one configuration being 3-4-3 and the other configuration being 2-4-2.

The best seats in the 3-4-3 level are 55A, 55K, 48D, and seats in row 30.

You’ll have much more legroom to stretch out in these seats.

You would necessarily want to avoid seats close to lavatories due to the noise and odor.

Asiana Airlines Fleet Airbus A350-900 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

Asiana’s A350-900 features a three class configuration with 28 flat bed Business Class seats, 36 Premium Economy seats with up to 3-4″ of added legroom, and 247 standard Economy Class seats.

Asiana’s A350-900 introduces their “Business Smartium” and “Economy Smartium” services.

Business Smartium is Asiana’s Business Class in-flight service that starts with a staggered seat layout, which provides direct aisle access from every seat.

Similar to Business Smartium; Economy Smartium on Asiana’s A350-900 provides enhanced comfort with 4 inches of extra legroom.

Passengers in this class have easy access to boarding as well as special inflight services that are available each flight.

Business class cabin consists of only 28 Business Smartium seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration across 7 rows.

Each of these seats is 22 inches wide and 77 inches in pitch and bed length.

The 28 seats are together in one cabin.

The odd-numbered rows have aisle seats on the side while the even-numbered rows have window seats on the side.

As a general rule of thumb, you want to be as far from the walkway as possible, so the best seats are even-numbered row seats.

We would recommend 6A and 6K because it’s located at the back of the cabin but not right in front of the galley.

Couples traveling together may like the honeymoon seats in even-numbered rows.

Just avoid the seats in the front, as they’re closest to the lavatories.

The A350’s premium economy cabin consists of 36 seats in a lackluster 3-3-3 arrangement.

These seats are 18 inches wide and 36 inches in pitch, which makes them only slightly larger than some airlines’ economy seats.

The lavatory and galley are located at the front of the premium economy cabin, so the best seats are likely to be in row 14 due to the increased privacy you’ll receive.

Compared to the 777-200’s seats, the A350 is slightly shorter.

Instead of having 33-34 inches in pitch, you’ll get 32-33 inches.

The width is the same at 18 inches.

The total economy cabin size consists of 247 seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.

There are a few optimal seats you can try to snag.

Seats 29B/C, 29H/J, 30A, and 30K are the best seats you’ll be able to get in Asiana’s A350 economy cabin.

You’ll have a lot of legroom to stretch out in.
