American Airlines Airbus A321-200 Seating Chart and Class Configuration Details Overview

The American Airlines Airbus A321 (321) 181 passenger version is primarily used on Domestic US routes.

This next-generation aircraft features a First Class cabin with 16 recliner-style seats.

The Main Cabin features 165 standard Economy Class-style seats arranged in a 3-3 configuration.

Main Cabin Extra seats, which provide additional legroom and priority boarding privileges, may be selected for an additional fee.

These seats are marked with yellow color. In first class these are seats 1A, 1C, 1D and 1F. Vicinity of WC and galley may bother passengers of these seats.

The same remarks have seats 21A, 21B, 21C and 21E, 22D, 23D, 23E and 23F, 35C and 35D. All of them are located in Economy class.

The best seats in this version of Airbus A321 are marked with green color.

The best seats in Main Cabin Extra are the seats of the 8th and 12th rows.

Passengers of the seats from 12A to 12F as well as seats from 11th row may enjoy extra space for their legs due to emergency exits located in front of them.

The same advantage have seats of 24th and 25th rows of economy class due to the similar reason.

Seats of the 9th, 10th rows and the seats from 13A to 13C are premium seats and are located in the Main Cabin Extra.

The worst seats of these version of A321 airplane are marked with red color and as in any aircraft are located in the last row, i.e. seats from 36A to 36F.

These seats are less reclining and are located close to the galley and WC what may cause inconvenience to passengers.

The American Airlines Airbus A321 (321) 187 passenger version is primarily used on US domestic routes.

This aircraft features a First Class cabin with 16 recliner-style seats in a 2-2.

The Main Cabin features 171 standard Economy Class-style seats arranged in a 3-3 configuration.

Main Cabin Extra seats, which provide additional legroom and priority boarding privileges, may be selected for an additional fee.

Seats in 2nd and 3rd row are standard.

Seats in first row are located close to the galley what may bother passengers and they don’t have enough overhead space.

Seats of the last row in the Business class have limited recline.

The seats 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, 5E and 5F have little space for the legs as in front of these seats there is a bulkhead.

The seat 6F has also less room for passenger’s legs as in front of this seat is located a box for entertainment equipment.

Seats 8A, 8B, 8C and 8F are not fill reclining as behind them exit row is located.

In the 9th row there are only 2 seats: 9D and 9E. These seats are not reclining but they have a lot of space for the legs. Also, there is no window here.

The seats 10A, 10B and 10C will like those passengers who prefer to have a lot of extra space for their legs during the flight. However, these seats don’t have storage space above them.

As to the seat 10F due to the fact that in front of it jump seat is located, no one will recline to passenger’s space. But this place has such a disadvantage as lack of floor storage and back pocket.

Seats 13A, 14A and 15A and seats 13F, 14F and 15F have misaligned windows.

Behind the seats 20A, 20B and 20C lavatories are located what makes these seats less reclining. For these seats as well as for seats 20D, 21D, 21E and 21F and 33C and 33D the proximity to WC may be bothersome.

The same disadvantage applies to seats of the 22nd row (22B, 22C, 22D and 22E). However, these seats have extra room for legs but at the same time their width is less than the width of standard seat.

Good seats in this version of Airbus A321 are seats 23A and 23F. Due to the lack of the seat in front there is extra space for passengers’ legs.

The bad seats in this airplane are seats from 34A to 34F, they are located very close to lavatories and galley and are not reclining at all.

The seats 1 A and 1F are located close to galley and WC what may cause inconvenience to passengers.

Business class consists of 20 seats, per 4 in each row. Seats 6A, 6C, 6D and 6F may be a little uncomfortable due to proximity of lavatories.

Main Cabin Extra section consists of 18 seats, per 6 in each row. These are premium seats.

Seats 11A and 11F of this section are bad seats as they have no windows and during takeoff and landing they have no floor storage. However these seats have extra space for legs.

Seats 11B, 11C and 11E are the best seats in entire Airbus A321 (32B) as they have a lot of extra room for passengers’ legs.

Seat 11D is also a good seat but without floor storage and during takeoff and landing.

Economy class section as well as Main Cabin Extra section consists of 18 seats.

Seats 21C and 21D are standard but proximity of lavatories may be bothersome as well as for passengers of the last row in the Airbus A321 (from 22A to 22F).

Plus the seats of the last row have limited recline. That is why these seats are considered bad seats.

American Airlines Airbus A319-100 Seating Chart and Class Configuration Details Overview

The American Airlines Airbus A320-200 (320) seats 150 passengers and is primarily used on Domestic US routes.

The aircraft is configured with 12 recliner style seats in First Class and 138 standard seats in Main Cabin Economy Class.

There are 18 seats in the Main Cabin offered as American Airlines’ Main Cabin Extra that may be selected for an additional fee.

These seats are located at the First/Main Cabin bulkhead and the Exit Rows. They feature additional legroom and preferred boarding.

American Airlines A320-200 Seat Map Plan Layout

Seat Map American Airlines Airbus A320-200 Seating Chart Picture
Seat Map American Airlines Airbus A320-200 Seating Chart Picture

The First class seats are all reclining. The seats of the first row (1A, 1C, 1D and 1F) have some peculiarities. Because of the bulkhead in front of these seats there is less room for passenger’s legs. Places 25C and 25D are standard but the proximity of the galley and WC may be troublesome.

The seats 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E and 4F have the same restrictions as the seats of the first row plus the tray tables are integrated into armrests making them immovable what reduces the width of these seats.

The exit rows are located between the 9th and 10th row and between the 10th and 11th rows. Due to this fact the seats from 9A to 9F do not recline, at the same time the seats of the 10th row have such an advantage as extra room for legs but they are also not reclining as behind them there is another exit row. Seats 11A and 11F also have extra room for legs but they don’t have armrests on the windows’ side.

So, the best seats in this aircraft are 11B, 11C, 11D and 11F as they have full recline and extra space for the legs.

The most uncomfortable seats in this airplane are the last seats (26A, 26B, 26C, 26D, 26E and 26F): they have limited recline and are located very close to the lavatories and galley.

Allegiant Air retires 757-200 fleet

The low cost carrier once operated a fleet of six 757-200s, beginning in 2010. This was the first time that Allegiant had operated another aircraft type besides the MD-80, but has since added a significant Airbus fleet.

In 2011, Allegiant flew its first 757 route from McAllen, Texas (MFE) to Las Vegas (LAS). Allegiant commenced Hawaii service in 2012, serving Hawaii from its hubs at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) and Las Vegas.

Hawaii was also served from Bellingham, Washington, Los Angeles (LAX), Stockton, California (SCK), and Eugene, Oregon (EUG).

The 757s were gradually withdrawn from the fleet beginning in 2015, with the Hawaii to Bellingham route ending in 2014, followed by the Phoenix-Mesa, Eugene, and Stockton routes, which were all served during exclusively during the summer, being cancelled for the 2015 season citing low demand.

Service to Los Angeles was then axed in 2015, leaving Las Vegas as the only surviving route from Hawaii which ended on October 28th.

Allegiant initially planned to use the 757s for service to Mexico in addition to Hawaii, but these plans never materialized.

The 757s were initially supposed to leave the fleet in August of 2016, but Allegiant elected to continue Hawaii service for one more year, requiring two 757s to remain in the fleet.

The final two 757s, N905NV and N906NV, were flown to Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville on October 31st. Source : Aeronautics

Allegiant Air Fleet Development (Size, Aircraft Model, Fleet History)

Allegiant Air once was the only U.S.-based carrier to have operated all five subtypes of the MD-80 series. On January 4, 2010, the SAS Group sold 18 surplus MD-80 series aircraft, built in the 1980s, to Allegiant Travel Company.

In April 2010, Allegiant purchased six Boeing 757-200 aircraft from Thomson Airways for flights to Hawaii with the delivery of the first two in the following months.

In September 2011, Allegiant Air introduced the 757 into service from their main hub in Las Vegas. Allegiant later began using the ETOPS configured 757s for service to Hawaii.

Fresno and Las Vegas were the inaugural destinations with nonstop service to Honolulu, Hawaii. Nonstop service to Honolulu was then added from Bellingham, Boise, Eugene, Phoenix (via Mesa Gateway Airport), Santa Maria, Spokane and Stockton. Nonstop service to Hawaii was also planned from Monterey, CA but was not actually operated.

Allegiant then began to reduce its Hawaii service and currently only operates Las Vegas-Honolulu nonstops with all Honolulu service scheduled to end in November 2017 due to Allegiant determining that the extensive and costly maintenance check that happens about every six years and costs upwards of $1 million would not be efficient on the aircraft they fly to Hawaii.

In September 2010, Allegiant began to reconfigure their MD-80 fleet from 150 seats to 166 seats per plane. The project would involve removing galleys from the planes to add the 16 additional seats. All of the MD-80 conversions were completed by the end of September 2013.

In July 2012, Allegiant announced the future addition of the Airbus A319-100 aircraft to its fleet. The aircraft are used and formerly belonged to easyJet and Cebu Pacific. All of them are high-density A319s, fitted with four overwing exits, allowing 156 seats.

Two former easyJet aircraft entered service in 2013, with another in 2014 and 6 in 2015. In December 2012, Allegiant cancelled the agreement with Cebu Pacific citing an inability to agree on economic provisions

On May 1, 2013, Allegiant purchased another A319 aircraft previously operated by easyJet and would enter service in the third quarter of 2013.

On February 23, 2015, Allegiant purchased 6 more A319s from Cebu Pacific which will be delivered starting this year until 2016.

In 2013, Allegiant acquired 9 Airbus A320-200 aircraft from Spanish flag carrier Iberia. Seven of the A320s were delivered in 2013 and were used for growth into new markets, including destinations in Mexico, the Rocky Mountains as well as airfields such as Charlottesville and Shenandoah Valley in Virginia and Trenton, New Jersey.

On February 24, 2015, Allegiant announced the purchase of 2 additional A320s from Philippine Airlines which entered into service in 2015. Later in 2015 the airline announced a firm order for an Airbus A320 direct from Airbus, the first time it has directly purchased new aircraft from the supplier.

In May 2017, Allegiant Air took delivery of its first brand new A320. Allegiant will take delivery of 10 new A320s in 2017 and 2 in 2018. All new Allegiant Airbuses will be painted in Allegiant’s new livery at the time it is delivered.

Old Allegiant Airbuses will be repainted during their C-checks. MD-80 aircraft will be retired with Allegiant old liveries. All new Airbuses will have sharklets and painted in Allegiant’s new livery.

The new A320’s seat 186 passengers, an increase of the 177 seats that are found in the rest of the Allegiant A320 fleet. “To fit the additional nine seats, Allegiant opted for the Airbus Space-Flex V2 Lavatory.”

On October 31, 2017, the final 757 was retired from service, leaving Allegiant with two fleet types. All remaining MD-80s are scheduled to be retired by November 2018. Source : Wikipedia
