Lufthansa Fleet Airbus A380-800 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

Lufthansa flies this version of their Airbus A380-800 in a four class configuration with 8 First Class open suites, 78 flat bed Business Class seats, 52 Premium Economy seats, and 371 standard Economy seats.

4 classes of seats are located in two decks of the airplane.

In the lower deck are located seats of the Premium Economy and Economy class.

In the upper deck – first class, business class and few seats of economy class.

An aviation marvel, the double-decker superjumbo still has only 8 first class seats, which makes the experience very exclusive, private, and luxurious.

Each seat is 31 inches wide, 81 inches in pitch, and 81 inches long in bed mode.

Interestingly, the lavatories are located at the front of the first class cabin while the galleys are located at the back.

When a cabin is split like this, the rule of thumb is to avoid the lavatories over avoiding the galley.

As a result, solo travelers may like window seats in row 2 while traveling companions may prefer to sit together in 2D and 2G on the A380.

On the Lufthansa superjumbo A380, there are 78 fully lie-flat seats in the same 2-2-2 configuration and seating arrangement as the 747-8.

The main difference is that all the business class seats are situated together, making the cabin quite dense.

There are lavatories and galleys at the front and middle of the business class cabin, so the best seats are going to be at the back of the business class cabin, preferably in rows 24 or 23.

Not only is the A380 the quietest aircraft in the sky but, it also happens to have a great premium economy seat configuration.

The seats themselves are 19 inches wide and 38 inches in pitch, which is pretty ordinary for premium economy seats.

The A380 offers the best economy seats and is the best aircraft to fly economy on, to be honest.

The Seats are 18.2 inches wide and 31 inches in pitch!

This is actually wider than most of the premium economy seats on Lufthansa.

371 economy seats are arranged in the A380 with a 3-4-3 configuration, for the most part.

Since the A380 is a double-decker, there are two distinct economy sections.

If you can, you always want to be seated in the smaller economy class section, which is arranged in a 2-4-2 arrangement and is more private than the larger sections.

That being said, the best economy seats on the A380 are 95C-H and 76A/K.

With the exit row in front of row 95, you’ll enjoy unlimited legroom.

However, avoid 95A and 95K due to the protrusion of the exit row door into your leg space.

76A/K are outstanding economy seats because there’s no seat in front to hinder your legroom.

Overall, the A380 economy seats are the largest, and by choosing the preferential seats, your in-flight experience will be dramatically better.

The lower deck starts with the seats of the Premium Economy class that may accommodate 52 passengers.

The seats of the 1st row of this class, i.e. the seats 50AC and 50Hk have some extra space for passengers’ legs but close location of the lavatory may cause discomfort.

Passengers of the seats 52DEFG may take advantage of extra legroom due to the bulkhead position.

However, close location to the stairs that lead to upper deck may be bothersome.

Close location of the lavatories may represent a problem for passengers of the seats 56C, 56DEFG and of the seats 57AC and 57HK.

Economy class in the lower deck is divided into three sections.

Most of the seats in the economy class have 3-3-3 configuration.

The seats of the 60th row as well as the seats 61DEFG have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

As the tray tables are in the armrests, the width of these seats is reduced a little.

Also, proximity of the galleys may be a problem.

Proximity of the lavatories may be bothersome for passengers of the seats 73DEFG and of the 74th row.

The first section is divided from the second with emergency exit.

That is why the seats if the 1st row in the 2nd section, i.e. the seats of the 75th row have extra space for passengers’ legs.

Among disadvantages of these seats: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing, reduced width of these seats as the tray tables are in the armrests making them immovable.

Other passengers tend to congregate in this area in order to visit lavatories located here.

The seats 76A and 76K are the best seats as they have extra legroom due to the missing seats in front.

The seats 76DEFG are narrower than standard, have no floor storage during take-off and landing and are located close to the lavatories.

The only disadvantage of the seats of 87th row is proximity of the galleys and lavatories.

The third section of the economy class in the economy class consists of 7 rows of seats that have 3-4-3 configuration.

The seats of the 88th row are located close to the galleys, have no floor storage during take-off and landing and are slightly narrower than standard.

Close location to the lavatories may be bothersome for passengers of the seats 93C, 93D, 93G, 93H and of the seats of the last 94th row.

The upper deck has 8 open suites in the first class that have 180 degree recline.

Business class includes 78 flat bed seats that also have 180 degree recline.

These seats are divided into 2 sections.

First section consists of 9 rows of seats that have 2-2-2 configuration.

All of these seats are standard.

Only close location of the seats of the first and last row of the section, i.e. of the 10th and 20th row to the galleys and lavatories may be bothersome.

The second section of Business class has 4 rows of seats that have 2-2-2 configuration.

The only disadvantage of the seats of 21st row is proximity of the galleys.

The last rows in the upper deck are the seats of the economy class.

These seats are located behind the exit row that is why the seats of the 95th row have extra legroom and are considered good seats.

As to the seats 95A and 95K, these seats have no windows.

The main disadvantage of the seats 98AC, 98GHK and the seats of the last 99th row is close location of the lavatory and galley.
