SWISS Fleet Airbus A320-200 Details and Pictures. On current fleet, SWISS operates 19 narrow-body aircraft Airbus A320-200.

For distances of up to 3600 km, SWISS uses the Airbus A320-200.

It has between 168 and 180 seats and carries up to a maximum of 3 tonnes of cargo.

The CFM56 engines are state-of-the-art in terms of environmental compatibility.

SWISS uses this aircraft type within Europe and between Switzerland, Africa and the Near East.

In 2013, the first Airbus A320 was fitted with the so-called sharklets.

The curved wing ends are reminiscent of a shark’s fin, and make the aircraft more energy-efficient.

Flying with sharklets saves fuel, reduces CO2 emissions and greatly reduces noise levels.

A320 is the first model of so-called A320 family representatives of which also are A318, A319 and A321.

SWISS Fleet Airbus A320-200 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

SWISS operates two cabin versions of Airbus A320-200.

First version operates with a seating capacity of 136-168 seats.

Second version operates with a seating capacity of 162-180 seats.

SWISS flies this aircraft on European routes and between Switzerland, North Africa and the Middle East.

The Business Class offers passengers more space since the middle seat is not being sold and thus remains free.

The A320 is configured 3-3, with the middle seat kept clear in business class (AC-DF).

The business cabin contains eight rows.

Seats in the front row have tables that fold out of the armrest, and magazine racks on the bulkhead in front.

The seats are upholstered in grey leather and recline four inches via a button in the armrest. Pitch is 30-32 inches.

There is more room in front of you in row one, although note that seats A and C in this row have no storage bin directly above.

Otherwise, the seats are pretty much the same throughout the cabin and selection should be made based on whether you prefer a window or aisle seat, or if you need to make a (very) quick exit at your destination.

First version of Airbus A320-200 is used by SWISS during the flights within Europe and between Switzerland, Middle East and North Africa.

It is the most common version.

This airplane may transport 136 passengers in two classes (having 168 seats).

All middle seats in the business class are nor sold providing additional privacy and space for passengers of this class.

The seats of the 1st row are considered good seats as passengers of these seats will be able to take advantage of extra legroom thanks to the bulkhead position.

At the same time the width of these seats is slightly reduced as the tray tables are built-in the armrests making them immovable and there is no floor storage for these seats during take-off and landing.

The seats 10A and 10F are not reclining because of the exit row located behind.

Passengers of the seats of the 11th and 12th rows on the one hand will feel comfortable thanks to extra space for their legs but on the other hand these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

The seats 11A and 11F as well as the seats 12A and 12F have no window-side armrest causing discomfort to passengers of these seats.

Economy class may accommodate 72 passengers.

All the seats of economy class are standard.

Among disadvantages of the seats of the last 36th row: close location of the lavatories and galley and limited recline.

The second version of Airbus A320-200 operated by SWISS is also used during the flights to North Africa and Middle East and on European routes.

This version as compared to the first one has more seats in Economy class than in Business.

Business class includes 9 rows of seats per 4 in each.

Again, the middle seats are blocked here and not sold providing more space to passengers of the business class.

As the tray tables are built-in the armrests, the seats of the 1st row are a little narrower than standard and also these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Economy class has 21 rows of seats that have 3-3 configuration.

As there is an exit row located behind the seats of the 10th row may be less reclining.

As the seats of the 11th row are located between two exit rows, these seats on the one hand have extra legroom but on the other hand may have limited recline.

Among other disadvantages: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing and reduced width of the seats as the tray tables are in the armrests making them immovable.

The best seats on the airplane are the seats of the 12th row.

Passengers of these seats will take advantage of extra space for their legs.

However, these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Close location of the lavatories and galley may represent a problem for passengers of the seats 37C and 37D and of the seats of the 38th row.

In addition the seats of the last 38th row may be less reclining.
