China Eastern Fleet Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner Details and Pictures

China Eastern Fleet Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner Details and Pictures. On current fleet, China Eastern operates 3 wide-body aircraft Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

The airline chose the 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft because of its power, reliability, and low noise level.

The main advantages are enlarged luggage racks with enough room for all passengers’ luggage; soft LED lighting; and technology to detect and attenuate turbulence, providing a smoother ride.

China Eastern plans to operate the new 787-9s on transpacific routes between China and North America, which continues to be a major market as the airline looks to bolster its trans-Pacific network.

With growing air traffic demand, the carrier plans to increase frequencies on existing routes from Shanghai to Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Vancouver and Toronto, as well as their newly launched destination, Chicago.

The routes are currently operated by the airline’s flagship 777-300ER airplane.

China Eastern Fleet Boeing 777-300ER Details and Pictures

China Eastern Fleet Boeing 777-300ER Details and Pictures. On current fleet, China Eastern operates 20 wide-body aircraft Boeing 777-300ER.

China Eastern will operate 777-300ERs on transpacific routes between China and North America, which will be a major market for China Eastern over the next three years.

The carrier plans to open new routes to North America and also boost frequencies on existing routes from Shanghai to Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Vancouver and Toronto.

Starting in November, the carrier will deploy its first 777-300ER on services to Los Angeles and New York.

China Eastern’s wide body fleet consists of 51 A330s that don’t have a first-class cabin and 20 777s that each have six suites — two in the first row with a huge table and storage lockers (since there are no overhead bins), followed by a row of four.

The Boeing B777-300ER is a superb aircraft, a tried and tested long distance performer with a great track record for safety and comfort, and China Eastern Airlines has outfitted their premium classes aboard its flagship aircraft with style and panache.

China Eastern 777-300ER First Class

At the front of the aircraft, the first class cabin consists of just six suites in a 1-2-1 configuration, each with an electrically operated door that can be closed for privacy.

Each suite is luxuriously appointed with an individual reading light and air vent plus a USB power port and in-seat power point for charging laptops and other devices.

With a pitch of 200cm and a width of 67cm, these are some of the biggest of any first-class seat. At the press of a button, the electrically powered seat glides into a two-metre flatbed.

The partition that separates the two middle suites, 2D and 2H, can be lowered and the two seats reclined to make a double bed, ideal for a couple travelling together.

The handsome Salvatore Ferragamo amenity kit comes with face cream, lip balm, cologne, a dental kit, eye mask, comb and ear plugs.

Pyjamas and slippers are provided for the ultimate in night time comfort.

The “Do not disturb” button ensures that first class passengers get as much sleep and privacy as they need.

For window-seat passengers, the power-driven shades allow infinite adjustment to let in as much or as little light as required.

Over-ear noise cancelling headphones are provided for the ultimate in listening comfort.

The 61cm touchscreen on the inflight entertainment system is dazzling, with adjustments for optimum viewing from any seating or reclining position.

The inflight entertainment system can be programmed via a remote controller as well as the touchscreen.

Storage space with each seat will swallow everything that a passenger might bring on board, conveniently close at hand.

The first-class cabin also has its own dedicated galley, and with a maximum of just eight privileged flyers, passengers can be assured of high level service and choices that range from simple to sumptuous, whether it’s from the Chinese or the Western menu.

The menu is complemented with fine wines and an array of spirits.

At the front of the first-class cabin is a walk-up bar, although drinks can also be served in the privacy of individual suites.

If you’re traveling with a significant other, definitely nab the double bed seats at 2D and 2H.

If you’re traveling alone, the best seat is 2L, since it’s far from the lavatories on the left side.

China Easter 777-300ER Business Class

Immediately behind the first –class cabin on the China Eastern Airlines B777-300ER is a mini business class cabin with just two rows, creating a virtual private club.

This is the optimal choice for business class flyers looking for quiet and privacy, with the convenience of direct aisle access from every seat.

Seats in both this smaller cabin and in the main business class cabin behind it are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration with the central seats in a reverse herringbone pattern for greater privacy.

The shell-type seating allows passengers to recline their seat without impacting on the passenger sitting behind.

These seats come from the class-leading Zodiac Cirrus range, customised to China Eastern Airlines’ colour palette.

Seat pitch is a generous 190cm, with plenty of leg room for even the tallest flyer.

Seat width is spacious at 60cm and the electrically-powered seat folds down to make a supremely comfortable lie-flat bed.

Storage in the overhead bins is huge.

In tandem with China Eastern Airlines’ first class flyers, business flyers get pyjamas and slippers for the ultimate in sleeping comfort, plus Clarins amenities with a dental kit, eye mask, ear plugs, moisturiser and lip balm.

The 41cm video touch-screen comes with quality headphones and there’s a USB port as well as an in-seat power point, plus a reading light.

The business class menu offers a choice of Chinese or Western dishes, with a selection of premium red and white wines.

Satellite-connected Wi-Fi is complimentary for both first and business class flyers.

If you reserve a seat in row 6, you’ll feel like you’re in a private jet because of the supreme privacy this mini-cabin affords.

There won’t be anyone walking around you, so it’ll truly be a quiet and peaceful business class experience.

The second-best seats would be the row of seats located in the middle of the large business class cabin.

After row 6, we think the second-best location is row 15.

This 11-row cabin has 2 sets of lavatories flanking both ends of the section.

By selecting the row of seats in the middle, you’ll minimize the chances of travelers walking past you, since the trajectory of the lavatories will always be away from your seat.

China Eastern 777-300ER Economy Class

China Eastern’s 777-300ER has a very dense 3-4-3 seating arrangement, with seats measuring 17″ wide and 32″-33″ in pitch.

This makes the 777-300ER economy seats an inch narrower than those on the A330.

There are a total of 258 seats, each with 6″ of recline.

The best seats are going to be 32B/C or 32J/K due to legroom from the exit row.

Passengers should avoid 32A and 32L due to the exit row protrusion, which will severely limit your legroom.

If those seats are already taken, seats in row 61 are solid as well.

Specifically, 61B/C and 61J/K are going to the next best seats if you can overlook the proximity of the lavatories.

China Eastern Fleet Airbus A350-900 Details and Pictures

China Eastern Fleet Airbus A350-900 Details and Pictures. On current fleet, China Eastern operates 12 extra wide body aircraft Airbus A350-900.

China Eastern has become the latest Chinese carrier to take delivery of the Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which has been earmarked to fly select domestic services in China as well as long-haul routes to Europe, North America and Australia.

The aircraft is set to debut on the airline’s Shanghai-Beijing service with future aircraft set to operate routes to Chengdu, Guangzhou, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Vancouver and Sydney.

While China Eastern isn’t the first Chinese carrier to receive the A350 – both Air China and Sichuan Airlines already operate the widebody aircraft – the airline is notable for being the only one of the three to offer a first class cabin on the aircraft.

Airbus’ Chinese completion and delivery center has handed over its first A350-900 to China Eastern Airlines.

The A350 is the first to be finished at the facility since it began working on the flagship widebody in 2019.

The first A350 to be built at Airbus’ Tianjin plant in North China has rolled off the production line and been handed over to China Eastern.

The Tianjin plant is the only facility outside of the EU capable of producing both the narrowbody and widebody products for Airbus.

The widebody facility was brought online in September 2017 to produce the A330, but was extended to include the A350 in 2019.

China Eastern Fleet Airbus A350-900 Cabin Interior Class Configuration and Seats Layout

China Eastern’s Airbus A350-900 aircraft features a modern and comfortable four-class cabin layout of 288 seats: 4 first (business plus), 36 business, 32 premium economy and 216 economy.

The airline will initially operate the new aircraft on its domestic routes, followed by flights to international destinations.

China Eastern Business Plus is a mini cabin with 4 identical Business Class seats in front of the plane.

This Business Class Plus seat is longer than the standard Business Class offering.

All 36 Standard Business and The 4 Business Plus seats have the same “door” providing good privacy.

However there is no partition between Business Plus and the rest of the Business Class cabin.

From the first glance, the seats are in same configuration as The Delta One suite, however they are customised to China Eastern’s design.

These seats look gorgeous, and they have excellent length and privacy, but appear to be a bit narrow due to the staggered layout.

The only visual difference in Business Plus is the larger LCD TV screen along with the lengthier cabin, which consequentially converts the seat into a longer bed.

This could be beneficial to anyone who’s taller than 6 foot.

They have chosen to install the Thompson Vantage XL seat for their business class seats, complete with sliding doors, which is the same seat as the Delta One Suites.

Qantas, South African Airways and SAS also have this seat as their latest business class seat, although they have opted not to have sliding doors.

A passenger-pleasing 1-2-1 seating layout comes standard aboard China Eastern’s Airbus A350s – providing direct and uninterrupted aisle access for every guest, as you’d expect – but these are no ordinary business class seats: they’re private suites, complete with closing doors.

New seats, the largest in-flight touchscreen in the airline, a next generation in-flight entertainment system, a full function bar, optimized cabin scene lightening, NFC (near field communication) reader for in-flight shopping, world premiere bluetooth earphone module, and high-throughput open spaces intersect.

The balcony-styled business class, the first of its kind, is equipped with a host of amenities, including Thompson Vantage’s first “super business” products, 32-inch high definition touchscreens that are far larger than regular first-class allocations, mini-bars, convenient storage lockers, AC power outlets, and more comfortable three-point seatbelts.

The two premium business class seats in the middle row are also foldable, allowing flight crew to reshape the space into a community area that up to four people can comfortably use for a business meeting or family gathering.

The newer wide-body Airbus A330-300 planes are configured in a two class layout, primarily serving China Eastern’s Asian routes.

The A330-300 has the unique versatility to cover all route segments – from short-haul trips to true long-range distances of up to 6,350nm, with passengers enjoying a comfortable, quiet cabin while in the air.

China Eastern consistently offers some of the cheapest economy class fares on transpacific travel, so it is absolutely worthwhile to consider them for economy flights.

China Eastern A330-300 Business Class

China Eastern A330-300s have had a recent makeover.

The makeover was recent enough that SeatGuru and China Eastern’s website still display the old A330-300 layout which was a 2-2-2 arrangement.

Now they are state-of-the-art 1-2-1.

These seats bear a close resemblance in look and feel to reverse herringbone seats on the 777-300ER and A330-200 which are 21 inches wide.

Because there is no forward console for bulkhead seats, they have larger footwells.

Seat and lighting controls, video remote, and power outlets are clustered smartly and are easily accessible.

The seat offers a good amount of open and secured storage for a business-class seat.

While the newest layout 1-2-1, Business Class on older layout comes in a 2-2-2 configuration.

The seat and the onboard entertainment are a bit outdated but still comfortable and offers plenty of legroom.

The seats don’t fully recline, so they remain angled.

However they are still comfortable for a bit of a snooze.

China Eastern A330-300 Economy Class

China Eastern A330-300 features economy seats in a 2-4-2 configuration.

The seats are 18″ in width and 32″-33″ in pitch.

The best seats to reserve are the side seats in row 31, which are located at the exit row and galleys.

Since there are no lavatories, the only noise you’ll hear is from the galley.
