EVA Air Fleet Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner Details and Pictures. On current fleet, EVA Air operates 4 wide-body aircraft Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

The plane was the first delivery of Eva Air’s order for 24 Dreamliners, the largest Taiwanese order to date, which also included 18 787-10 aircrafts.

The order also calls for EVA Air to operate, under lease from ALC, four additional 787-9s and two 787-10s.

EVA Air will replace Boeing 777-300ER on some routes with this new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

EVA Air will fly the Boeing 787-9 on its routes from Taipei Taoyuan-Bangkok-Vienna and its non-stop service from Taipei-Vienna. Currently, EVA Air operates those routes on a Boeing 777-300ER.

Beginning in October, EVA Air will also change its Taipei-Amsterdam service to a Boeing 787-9.

EVA Air Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner can accommodate a total of 304 passengers and divide into 26 Royal Laurel (Business) Class and 278 economy class.

EVA Air intend to use the B787-9 on long haul service.

Interesting that it doesn’t feature Premium economy class like other EVA Air B777-300ER does.

The Royal Laurel Business Class offers seats measuring a generous 23 inches wide and 76 inches long for full-lie down capability, especially desirable for the long-haul flight.

Taoyuan to Amsterdam averages a flight time of 13 hours, for example.

EVA Air partnered with Designworks, a part of BMW, to design the new business class on their Dreamliners.

The company improved upon the privacy screens and storage room available to each passenger.

Additionally, they upgraded the in-flight entertainment system to include an 18-inch touch-screen monitor.

Economy class on the new EVA Dreamliner is impressive, as well.

With seat design from the trusted company RECARO.

In-flight entertainment for economy seats is on a 12-inch touch-screen monitor.

EVA Air has staggered seats on their 787-9s, very similar to what you’ll find on Qantas’ 787-9s (though the finishes make them look very different).

The cabin is quite intimate with just 26 seats, spread across seven rows in a 1-2-1 configuration.

Each seat have direct aisle access and capable of 180 degrees lie flat with a large footwell. There are plenty of storage and work space on the side and inside the storage compartment.

EVA Air’s 787-9 Economy Class comes in a 3-3-3 configuration with 278 seats in total.

Each seat offers personal entertainment, USB and a Power outlet.

Business class on this aircraft features lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone layout offering aisle access to all seats, divided into two cabins.

Premium economy, which EVA called Elite, features recliner seats arranged 2-4-2.

Coach seats in the tight 3-4-3 layout common nowadays on 777s, but with 33 inches of legroom — more than on most Triple Sevens.

Unlike the Airbus A330s which sport business class seats in a 2-2-2 layout, those aboard the airline’s Boeing 777 jets come in a much more pleasing 1-2-1 configuration

As a reminder, the magic words to look for when booking your EVA Air flight are “Royal Laurel Class”, which is the airline’s branding for its best business class experience, as opposed to “Premium Laurel Class”, which is code for the airline’s 2-2-2 seat.

As you’d expect, the difference between the two is significant – here on the Boeing 777, there’s more elbow room and storage space for your gear.

If EVA Air’s Royal Laurel business class seat looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s a customised version of the popular Zodiac Cirrus seat as also flown by Air France, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Vietnam Airlines and others, which many would regard at a high standard.

EVA Air’s Airbus A330-300 aircraft seats 309 passengers in a two-class configuration: Premium Laurel and Economy.

There’s 30 angle-flat seats on Premium Laurel, and 279 standard seats ono Economy.

The business (premium laurel) cabin is equipped with angled flat seats in a 2-2-2 configuration.

The window seats therefore do not have direct aisle access.

There’s lots of storage space around the seat.

Two compartments below the screen, one small compartment right of it for magazines and two compartments below the middle console.

Furthermore there is a space for a bottle of water between the two screen and below the magazine compartment.

The seat settings can be changed in the outer arm rest.

This is also where you will find the remote.

The tray tables are in the middle arm rest. Below the middle arm rest you will also find a power plug, two USB plugs and cinch connectors. You will also find a reading light and a headphone connector next to your head.

There are 2 toilets available.

The economy cabin is configured in a 2-4-2 configuration, which is fantastic for those seated in the window or aisle sections on the right or left side of the aircraft.

The seat cushion colors are an ugly scheme that looks like it was designed by a turtle with a camo fetish.

However, they were at least comfy seats.

EVA Air’s Airbus A330-200 is a wide-body aircraft with a two-class configuration: Premium Laurel and Economy.

Spread across just four rows, EVA Air’s Airbus A330-200s come with 24 business class (-remium laurel) seats in a 2-2-2 layout.

With a 61-inch (155cm) seat pitch between rows, those transform into angled-flat beds for these overnight flights with a plush pillow and blanket.

A small privacy divider can be withdrawn from the centre console – it doesn’t do much when you’re sitting upright, but can help block the light from your neighbour’s TV when in bed mode to help you rest.

There’s an AC power socket right next to you, although Australian pins aren’t accepted without an adaptor – you’ll need a European plug or a US-style connector, the latter being standard on the ground in Taiwan.

Seats in the business cabin are 19.23 inches wide and are equipped with a 110-volt universal power outlet on the armrest for hooking up computers and other devices, telephones, LED reading lights, 10.4-inch screens, coat hooks and bottle holders.

The headrest and seat cushion are adjustable, the lumbar support and legrest are operated electronically, and for sleeping, the seat reclines to an angle of 11 degrees from horizontal with a pitch of about 61 inches.

Storage space is in the seat pocket in front or in the overhead luggage cabin.

EVA’s Airbus A321-200 seats 184 passengers and is configured into two classes of service: Business and Economy.

There’s only 8 recliner seats on Business Class cabin, and 176 standard seats on Economy Class.

Business class aboard EVA Air’s Airbus A321 jets comes in a standard 2-2 layout, giving eight seats across two rows.

While the airline could certainly refresh these with a more stylish fabric, they’re still quite comfortable – and spaced at 45 inches of pitch, there’s plenty of room to move even if the passenger in front reclines.

At a width of 21 inches, these seats both recline and offer a swing-out leg rest.

Both functions can be controlled via simple keys aside the arm rest.

In terms of storage, there’s a pocket in front of you, and if you select a seat in the second row, you can also use the space underneath the seat in front for laptop bags and the like – which would otherwise have to go into the lockers for take-off and landing.

Each passenger also gets an international-style AC power outlet, although not a separate USB slot.

As these jets are most often used on short regional flights across Asia – such as this hop from Hong Kong to Taipei, at under two hours from gate to gate – the seat caters to the needs of most travellers, whether aiming to work or relax, or a little of both.
