United Airlines Fleet Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Cabin Specification and Class Configuration

On this United Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, Polaris, Economy Plus and Economy seating is available.

Polaris class on this aircraft features a standard Business Class seat which transforms into a fully flat bed. Polaris inflight service is offered.

There was a forward cabin with three rows of seats in a 2-2-2 configuration, and a rear cabin with the same number of seats.

Each business seat has a small exposed storage compartment to the back left of the seat, featuring outlets (both 110v and USB), as well as the headphone jack.

While these business seats are fully flat, one downside to them is that they only have small footwells.

The reason for this is that your feet essentially go inbetween the seats in front. That’s how they’re able to fit more seats into a small area.

Any business class seat is an improvement over an economy class seat, and for shorter and smaller passengers the difference in footwell size might not be noticeable.

However, if space is important remember to look for bulkhead seats and seats with a footwell not constrained by the center console.

Business first class includes 6 rows of seats that have 2-2-2 configuration.

These seats are divided into two sections. Per 3 rows in each.

The seats of Business First class represent flat bed seats that have 180 degrees recline.

Close location to the galleys may represent a problem for passengers of the seats 1B and 1K.

The seats 1DE and 2DE have less overhead storage space due to the fact that crew and safety equipment is usually stored here.

The only disadvantage of the seats of 3rd row is proximity of the galley and lavatory.

Behind exit row the second section of Business First class is located.

Close location to the galley may be bothersome for passengers of the seats of 4th row.

The seats in Economy Plus class are located per 9 in the row.

The best seats here are the seats of the 16th row and the seats 17DEF.

Passengers of these seats will take advantage of extra legroom thanks to the bulkhead position.

Among disadvantages of these seats: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing and reduced width of these seats as the tray tables are in the armrests making them immovable.

Economy class seats are divided into two section.

As the seats of the 25th row are located in the last row of the section, the seats 25ABC and 25JKL may be less reclining.

Other passengers tend to gather in this area in order to visit lavatories and causing discomfort to passengers of the seats 25ABC, 25D, 25F and 25JKL.

The seats 27A and 27L are considered bad seats for the following reasons: these seats have only a small porthole window and have restricted space for passengers legs due to the exit door protrusion.

As the tray tables are built-in the armrests, the width of these seats is reduced.

Close location of the lavatories and galley is another disadvantage.

Also these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

The other seats of the 27th row, i.e. the seats 27BC, 27DEF and 27JK belong to Premium Plus class.

Other passengers tend to gather in this area in order to visit lavatories and causing discomfort to passengers of these seats.

There is no floor storage during take-off and landing and these seats are narrower than standard.

The seats 34A and 34L are missing windows.

Proximity of the lavatories and galley will represent a problem for passengers of the last rows of the airplane, namely 36ABC, 36JKL, 37D, 37F and 38DEF. The seats 36ABC and 36JKL may also have limited recline.
